You're correct of course.A valid stroke against spin (re Root) but Stokesy’s shot was airy fairy.
You're correct of course.
But it seems every other shot is the sweep and we keep getting out to it.
Sweep should be a shot for when you're "in"You're correct of course.
But it seems every other shot is the sweep and we keep getting out to it.
You heard any positive craic about Durham for this summer to lift our spirits? The end of Bairstow’s test career?
I know what you mean, but playing a straight bat down the wrong line has gotten more out. You're correct of course.
But it seems every other shot is the sweep and we keep getting out to it.
It’s dangerous against their bowlers as they both get a bit of bounceIt does seem as if its the only scoring option some of our batsmen are capable of attempting against consistent slow bowling.
Even Jonny's biggest detractors wouldn't have predicted 3 ducks in 4 inningsReally smart by Jos this

Playing like a team who know they’re beaten. I was really looking forward to test cricket this year but this is going to retire a few players and confidence will be shot to shit.
When Sibley, Crawley and Pope came into the side I was hopeful we might’ve finally found a half decent top opener but England inability to bat continues. It seems we’re only ever a wicket or 2 away from a total collapse at the top.
Bairstow has somehow managed to keep getting test caps despite being awful for quite a while now, his average over the last 10 innings is under 10. Surely there are some county players worth giving a shot to?
I really feel for Root, he’s the only true world class test player in that side and we’ve seen when the openers manage to see out 20 overs what he can do, unfortunately he’s been in before over 10 in all but the huge score earlier in the series.
Stokes has the ability to do amazing things but he doesn’t have regular steady innings.
Bess and Leach are good spinners but nowhere near world class. Nathan Lyon must be rubbing his hands together waiting for the Ashes at the end of the year. I wonder if all of the focus we put on white ball cricket over the last 4 years has finally caught up with us?
Dire straits.
