India v England series

There's nothing good spirited with you slagging off Burns like tbf especially with the worst shot in the history of cricket hyperbole stuff. Also you are lying. You were mocking the selection of Sibley in India 'who cant play spin' while the likes of Bairstow was sitting at home. At least admit your mistakes as most people had those doubts. That's what the best posters do. What would have been a good posters answer was 'yes I did have my doubts about his selection but he has worked brilliantly at his game - fair play.'

Why you’re being like this I have no idea, you’ve woke up with an agenda against me, onto ignore you go. Bye. If you’re having a bad day mate, don’t tKe it out on me

Anyone know which of the other worlds networks have taken this series up? The fanboi-ism on the Channel 4 commentary team is incredibly annoying to listen to and will only get worse once India start getting into the match.

and for the poster targeting me above I absolutely would not drop Rory Burns, he gets in my XI now and in Australia

But that’s one of the worst dismissals I’ve seen in a while, no point sugar coating it

I’m saying he needs to do more, he gets a lot of praise but his average isn’t good enough, he needs to realise why he is in the team and his strength is wearing bowlers down, put the silly shots away

First point spot on, he just finds a way

2nd point I can’t agree mate

Just made 200 n 180 batting 4, his record is at least ten runs higher

The real issue is jonny bairstow walking his dog at home!

The difference is 13. He also averages 17 more again at 5 than 4. Should maybe hoy another human shield in at four. ;)

I'm sure Lawrence would have made 13 runs batting down the order. Root effectively came in at three anyway.

Lawrence was exposed to Bumrah in full flow and pegged back in his crease Gary Ballance style. Not ideal for a young player in his third test, picked for his ability against spin.

I'd be happier with Bairstow at 3 against SL than Ishant and Bumrah. I am wracking my brains to think who could have done a better job than simply moving Joe up.

OK mate i'll let it drop. Bit annoyed at how critical you are to others who criticise our players when you were doing it yourself. England getting themselves into a good position. Big session ahead no more than 3 down at close.

Didn’t we previously solve this by having Pope at 3? So not sure why he’s now down at 6 againn

Short memory I raise you mark wood. If Sri Lanka hadn't have batted like idiots again that really could have cost us the test. I know he's not a batter but that was bad.

Really awful shot though after being settled in the morning session of the first test of series after winning the toss.

But he was going along well so hopefully he can do better next time.

Root will probably be at 4 for life now but I still don't really get it. In Sri Lanka he was in pretty much straightaway, the ball, the conditions, the bowlers the same whether he was batting 3 or 4. However at the end of the day he does perform better when hes coming in 2nd wicket down.

Worth noting ones an international opener and the other a number 11 mind

There’s a fair argument for it

And aye bairstow not ideal against them 2

But better than Lawrence

We were very unlucky with Crawley mind I think he’d have gone ok

On root though, he’s so so much better than all our other batsman you just bat him where he wants and fit the rest around him

Been round on circles on this so no point going over but it’s not point discomforting root in anyway just to accommodate someone like dan Lawrence

I’d have played Pope at 3 Fron that lot

I think this a smoke screen though the real issue for me is that ed Smith just didn’t pick enough options!
