India v England 3rd ODI

You have to give allowances for umpires in the field making split second decisions it is natural they will make mistakes, it's what DRS is for.

But the behaviour of the third umpires has proven them to be biased in favour of the home team imo.
There is absolutely no excuse for "missing" no balls etc.
Spending five minutes poring over a close decision that isn't going their way, desperately trying to find a reason to reverse the decision.
While taking 5 milliseconds over a close one going theirs because they don't want to find anything.

Also for people saying it's all in fans heads, I recall Bob talking about a tour of Australia where the home umpires gave England nothing.
I may be mistaken but I believe he said England didn't get a single LBW decision given against Australia on the entire tour.
Correct - 1971 Tour, and we didn't get an LBW during the whole tour.

I’m glad it’s finished.
Kohli, his behaviour and his lackeys are a stain on cricket as far as I’m concerned.
Sycophantic supporters and commentators, dubious umpires- Nitin Menon apart...nope not for me.
You make a really good point here. Kohli speaks really well after a game but his actions on the field are up there with the Pakistan team of the 1980s and the Aussies of the 2000s. Also, I used to think Indian supporters were the best, but they do not see reason or other team’s qualities...quite sad in the so called ‘cricket family‘.
I think Kohli thinks he is bigger than the game.

Agree with every word. It’s a shame Indian fans put rampant nationalism above the game and being part of the “cricket family”. I do think it’s a recent thing as well

It's odd too, because Indian people to tend to be amongst the most humble people you could ever meet IRL. But when it comes to cricket, they have a real complex

I often wonder what they’re like in person at grounds in India. They’re horrific on social media. Their UK based lads that attend games when India are playing here are good crack

Two of my mates went out for the ODI's in 2016 (i think) and said the fans in the ground were incredible. No bother and decent crack.

They only had tickets for the first game, ended up getting sorted for the other 2 through cracking onto people in the ground. They ended up having a spare ticket at one of the games and gave it to their tuk tuk driver for free + he invited the two of them back to his parents house for bait and beers the next day.

Totally agree. I really want to like him because he’s such a fantastic player and batsman, but I just can’t because of the way he conducts himself. Yet often when I hear him interviewed after games he comes across OK. His on field antics and some off field stuff though I think really lets him down.

I’ve said this before but India itself is an amazing, beautiful country and it’s people are wonderful, warm and welcoming in my experience. Where cricket’s concerned though, they are as bad as the Aussies.

I visited years ago and I really think the ipl has sent the fans the wrong way in India, I’ve a few people I still talk too but it seems to have changed in India since the birth of ipl for the wrong I never used to mind playing india but now I think they are up their with the Aussies for twats.

Without getting too political I do think Modi has had a part to play with his Hindi nationalistic rhetoric. But that’s a topic for elsewhere!

And Abdul Qadir reckons he was cheated bowling in England never getting the most blatant of Lbws with his googly. We of course go on about Miandad never getting out lbw in Oakistan.

Tufnell reckons in Australia when he screamed for an LB that Daryl Harper said “fuck off you pommie bastard” 😂

Yeah I've heard Tuffers tell that one before. Really hope it's true

I could only watch the first two hours and just caught the highlights. What a shame. Curran and Wood were heroic, but we made too many gaffes. Some of the dismissals were shocking.
I believe we are the better side, on decent wickets. So roll on the summer.

He is judging by how cricket kowtows to him.

His behaviour is completely egregious and India have all the power and influence so can't be kept in check.
