I think if the pitch is an absolute farce it narrows the gap between the spinners. Must win the toss though.Supposedly cracked all over and bits can been so it had to be win the toss bar first but we know our spinners are not up to it.
Plus Root & Bairstow have been woeful in this series.

Surprised Jimmy able to play after that slog in Rajkot.
Thought they keep him fresh for Dharamsala as seeing mixed forecasts despite the met office predicting snowy and cold for 2 weeks.
A lot of of overs on Root again if it actually spins. Maybe they are unsure on the wicket as they say it looks green from the dressing room.
Mixed forecasts this says be mid teens in March
Based off what Stokes said, I'm guessing they don't have a clue how it will play so hedging their bets with a balanced bowling lineup.Surprised Jimmy is playing as he looked spent in that 2nd innings and not sure how many overs he will actually bowl in the match.
Dropping Ahmed is a surprise too given the pitch has cracks down one side of the pitch, plus he's a better bat than Jimmy.
Genuinely would have stuck Lawrence in over Jimmy
In fact, if you give it a minute’s thought the pitch doesn’t really make sense as a piece of gamesmanship if it’s as bad as suggested.
The classical Indian approach was to go one up and then provide pitches that wouldn’t produce a result if you played for a month. That at least made sense. Cynical as anything, but it made sense. Waiting till you go one up to provide a pitch that looks a lottery makes no sense at all.

If anything it gives us more of a chance to square the series. We can't bat as bad as we have again surely, and if one of our spinners can have a purple patch and run through their batters. Anything is possible. In fact, if you give it a minute’s thought the pitch doesn’t really make sense as a piece of gamesmanship if it’s as bad as suggested.
