Stop talking sense. Only in the north east would you find a team, relegated by their rivals, trying to claim the upper hand whilst trying to get back to where there rivals are. It's laughable, and some of our fans inferiority complete is embarrassing, especially given recent times.

Sunderland aren't down yet but the vital signs are fading fast. I really think if you do go down it will be for a few years as the competition down there will be fierce with the likes of Leeds, Villa etc
NUFC fans aren't expecting too much next year assuming we do go up. Mid table will do in yr 1 - and then a big push for top 4 in yr 2.

I can't think of a set of local rivals I'd rather have. Liverpool must be hilarious at times but they are almost always good.
