I'm backing Poyet.

What better way to build than attract a new generation of supporters by getting to an FA Cup semi/final?
He has fckd up simple as-its already causing a split amongst the support. Shows how he has misread the mood of his own support.

Tbf to Gus, his priority is survival. I was there yesterday and while it was a disgusting performance, all will be forgotten if we beat palace.

That said, yesterday has probably heaped more pressure on an already huge game.

Passed caring - even if we stay up he'll no doubt be sacked by Christmas after another wholesale makeover of personel replacing dross with more dross means were scrapping about again.

He's more likely to still be here this time next season if we go down IMHO...

All I ever see you do it tell people to fuck off.

You should mix it up a bit with a few bugger and piss offs, just for variety (as it's the spice of life and all that).

Cue me being told to fuck off, but I couldn't give a monkey's...

You're dead right I should have expanded on the theme and explained why it was so ludicrous but I was too lazy.

When will we get another chance like this? In another 22 years time? We can't keep on saying 'well if we keep Poyet we'll have more chances like this'. You have to grab your chance with both hands. We didn't.

He can't get carried away by the lure of Wembley. He's trying to build something here, and a huge part of that relies on us being in the top flight.

We can't prioritise everything. He was right to rest key players yesterday, the FA Cup right now is a luxury we cannot afford.

It's too early in Poyet's tenure to chase silverware, but the fact that we're even talking about it - this season of all seasons - should give those laying into him pause for reflection.

We've had the best cup runs in decades. If you let cups be the reason you turn on Poyet, you need to have a word with yourself.

Here's to the real battle.
Well said that man ;)

You can disagree with someone and still back them I think he misjudged it and also passed on his own lack of interest to players inadvertently. That said some of those players were given a chance to shine bad dropped it awfully.

By now I am more sad about the entires footballing attitude to the FA Cup. It is on its last legs

I hope so like mate & I was there also, but the problem I have is the weekend previous, I wanted it again !!

Just I'm not sure when we'll get a chance like that again, I know the be all & end all is the so called Premier league like, but weekends like we witnessed will never be forgotten imo.

Spav, if you had been in London last weekend, I think your thoughts may have been different. This is not a slight at the fact you cannot get to matches, it is just telling you how I wanted to feel that again and yesterday was a great chance.
I feel sick that I will not feel it again. I feel far, far worse than last weekend.

I felt the same way mate. Sitting on the bus yesterday and listening to the draw was gutting - Ffs Sheff Utd in a semi??!!

I just hope we stay up now. I said two weeks ago that the first three weeks in march could be my best period in nearly 30 years supporting the club. Two weeks in and we have two defeats! A defeat on Saturday would be a total disaster

Absolutely.

Sensible people will agree with every word. I Agree with every word

Nail on head

To be honest mate I'm absolutely devastated, the chance to go back to Wembley again & party again in Central London was so close man. I wanted this again & when will we get that chance again. The best weekend of my life it was !!

This is why I'm so PISSED OFF with that team selection yesterday !!

Well said fella. Some common sense!

I definitely got the impression considering his team selection and his comments after the match, (which more or less led with the concept that now the cup is out of the way, we can concentrate on the Prem), that Gus didn't really want to win the match. Remember that when he made the selection, Arsenal and Man City were both still in it, and we have a fixture pile-up to face. I reckon at some level an executive decision has been made not to risk too much to win the match.
