His tactic tonight to have Howson dropping into defence to make a back 5 at times didn't work yet he continued to play it even after it cost them a couple of goals and despite them being 4-0 down at half time. Seemed like he stubbornly refused to move away from it, which is always a worrying sign.

He didn't come midtable though did he? He got them into the playoffs despite a horrific start under the previous manager. You might be able to say that at the end of this season.
