If it’s true about this forum closing

If this forum goes the journey then I think my social media presence will disappear, possibly not a bad thing, love RTG , unlike many I don’t take it too seriously.
As for the that forum being mentioned as an alternative, the fact that there are a lot of Indian and Pakistani posters puts me off straight away, they just take over and crowd everyone else out.
For the same reason I don’t attend internationals involving these two teams.

Thing is D , they are easily avoided Not all of them are unreasonable

A lot of them are calling for Kohli and Sharma to be retired

There are 6 regulars from here who have signed up.

Ive started a Durham thread

If this disappears it will be better than nowt to discuss Durham safc etc etc

Do the Indians not ruin every thread with their inane drivel about Cloudy Anderson and boundary count champions?
It is. Its a pro bcci forum. Anyone who speaks out against them will be banned. As I was for "ruining the atmosphere of the board". You couldn't make it up.
You do realise that site will be subject to the same laws as here?

Beginning of the end. They have no right to force normal people off the internet. Its mot theirs to control. Information and truth will always out. No matter how much they try and stiffle it.

Seen a few have already joined off the back of this. I've been on and off their for a good 11 years.

But can only back up Carty as it being a very good forum. Apart from Ireland/Afghanistan a vast array of opinions from other test playing nations

The India posters have their moments but a million miles away from the horrendous ones on Twitter/Reddit.

That is far away from the experience I’ve had on there

I’m banned on here for posting about flags etc etc which upsets one person only

I’ve been in many a battle with arsey Aussies but I get along well with the Indian crowd

All to be seen if it continues , I hope it does

Exactly. A few Indians post direct to me and I’ve made a good mate of Ashley Bach who I’m not sure if he’s Aussie or kiwi

I will take on Burgey next winter and can’t wait

I’ve sent a message to that sites ownership to mention the problem this site may encounter

If and when they reply , I’ll pass on their comments

I don’t want either site to close to be honest

Kiwi from my experience

I enjoy Burgey he gives as good as he gets. A mutual respect sort of thing as he's a proper cricket fan, even when he's on the Aussie WUM tact.

He’s a good lad Ashley as he posts me regular pms

As for Burgey I sense a kindred spirit and he will be taken on next winter
.

I’ve just had confirmation from one of high ups of Cricketweb, that there is no danger at all of it closing

PrinceEws was the person who confirmed this

@mackembhoy can confirm that he is one of the high ups over there

It’s just an alternative for people if this place sadly closes

@RTGAdmin maybe because it’s overseas based then the uk law changes won’t affect it

The law is "extra-territorial" so effects any site with UK users regardless of where it is based.

Whether or not the owner is worried about following it is of course a different matter.

I think the majority of sites will be hoping they fly under the radar, but it only takes one upset person to complain to Ofcom and then they will be aware of it - I suspect if the site has evidence of risk assessment documentation and a complaints process in place Ofcom will initially go easy on them, but if there is no evidence of that and the site is not UK based, they might well just order UK ISPs to block access to it....only time will tell.

From Ofcom:

The regulations are international in their reach and apply to online services that have links with the UK, regardless of where the provider of the service is based or registered.

I’ll pass this on. Thank you

In reply to your post @RTGAdmin i got this from your equivalent over on cricket web

“I can assure you that if compliance costs are the only thing threatening this place then it'll be fine”
