If he had something to do with it, the club likely owes Coleman another 1.7m. I think they probably just said it to be diplomatic and to distract from actual candidates BUT there was always the story about it saving us a fortune to sack him before the takeover. There's a chance they would like him back but wanted to save some cash.

I'm pretty confident that all the Coleman comments were arse covering tbh. Apparently if sacked after a takeover he'd have been due a lot higher pay off. Makes sense to do it before they join in that case, but equally they'll need to ensure it sounds like they didn't make the call, if they did Coleman could make a case that it was because of them he was sacked and try for the higher pay off. Instead they both say it was nothing to do with them and that they'd consider him as manager. The chances of it happening are virtually zero
