ID checks for away tickets

They 100% have to communicate this all better. Because at the minute, we know some people have been caught passing their ticket on but we've got no idea what happens thereafter and we know the ticket goes to waste. If you can't attend, surely there has to be away easily of cancelling your ticket online and the club know you've cancelled it. If it's too late to re-sell then so be it but you've done what you can from your end
I've got no idea but if I had to guess I'd say they might be using this season as a bit of a soft launch whereby they'll see how widespread the issue is and then communicate a clearer policy from next season. Maybe this season people just get warned, but they'll keep the data on how often it's happening. Certainly hope they communicate it anyway, not sure what's gained by keeping it all cloak and dagger. If anything, clearly saying "first offence you lose all your black cat points" will make people much less inclined to even think about buying a ticket to pass it on.

But if we do go for something as strong as the mags have, they definitely need to make sure that you can cancel your ticket without punishment any time prior to reaching the turnstile to cover all the genuine illnesses on the day, travel issues etc. And ideally, if possible, have a way of making the ticket available for others to purchase even if it's to any season ticket holder on the day of the game so that if anyone has travelled without a ticket, or can quickly arrange travel, they have a chance of getting in

Yeah fully agree with all that. I'd like to think the club wouldn't just hide behind some terms and conditions hidden away on AskSAFC somewhere and actually let people know what the clear guidelines are for what happens when a ticket can't be used.

Club sanctions are potentially in addition to criminal sanctions. The club can’t override a judge if criminal action was taken.
Criminal sanctions arent going to apply because you gave your ticket to your dad because you were ill.

Think what people are wanting to know is what the consequences are from the club if this happens once or twice. It is unclear no matter how many times people copy and paste regulations from the FA, the club, the law, whatever it may be.

But I suspect the club cant answer that as they will deal with it on a case by case basis.

One fan was threatened with arrest at Arsenal in the league cup game the other year as he was trying to give a ticket to someone outside the ground as there were loads of fans who couldn't make the game due to Covid. The guy said I've got a few spare tickets because people couldn't travel due to illness and the copper said if I see you give that ticket to anyone, even if no money is involved, I'll arrest you on suspicion of ticket touting.

Apauling.Must have been a case of all brains and no common sense with this individual copper.

I am sure it will be answered here somewhere but 117 pages takes some scrolling.
It looks likely I wont be able to go to the Leeds match, how do i return my ticket. Thank you
Update. I contacted ask.com and within 20 minutes I received an email saying they will refund me.
I can't knock that kind of service.

The amount of people I seen at Arsenal who i know haven’t attended away games this season and have little points , some dont even have a season ticket.

There will be some people literally allowing their season card points to be used and they pick and choose their games and just mine points.

Meanwhile I’m scrambling for phase 3 ffs.

Mebbes I’m reading this wrong but Arsenal sold out on phase 2 didnt it? If so how did you get an Arsenal ticket?

theirs a certain branch in particular (i'll mention no names) that has been recently banned from buying tickets because of the amount of tickets they have been passing on to other people.....

so the club are trying to crack down

but that still doesn't stop the branch from buying the tickets in the normal phases, they are just banned from the 'ring fenced' 40 tickets code

Other ppl in the branch or outside the branch?

both.

basically if your 'in' with the branch then you get tickets, regardless of the points you on.

SAFC have had a number of complaints about this certain branch over time and one of their own members dropped them in it when the ticket wouldnt work and went to the ticket office only to be hit with 'where did you get this ticket from, its not under your name'
