ID checks for away tickets

Key word there is "yet". And someone was saying in the week that one bad example of a lad selling a marked up ticket on Facebook has got himself a 5 home game ban and lost all his points.
Good shouldn’t be selling it marked up for 1, sounds like a knob
If they want to do checks it would be pretty easy to write down a list from that Facebook page of people selling and check them tickets at the ground
Said for weeks now mate just get rid of that page or someone from the club buy them then ban them, no need for id checks then.
Out of curiosity Is there a way officially to sell on away tickets that you can’t make the match? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Do you think you should get tickets ahead of people who go every single week travelling hundreds of miles?

Funny when people refer to themselves as exiles - who exiled you? Or did you choose to move away for your own benefit?
Whatever the reason which clearly you don’t know it’s the persons call to move away and there could be multiple reasons. The judgement on here of a comment made sometimes is pathetic, what a nob

No official way unfortunately, i was ill for west ham and lost my point for that game. When id rather of given the tickets away through an official channel for free.
However if id just hoyed them on Facebook I would’ve got me cash back and kept me point. But have actually been punished for playing by the rules. I’ve said and stand by agreeing with the removal of the point for those who don’t attend but feel that if this is a thing the club need to provide a portal to inform them so you aren’t punished by the club further down the line

Yep same for me

Contacted the club before Everton FA Cup to say I was too ill to go, did not want a refund, just wanted somebody else to get a chance

Was told “we understand your frustration but cannot sell your ticket” then some stuff about me not selling it, which I had no intention of doing.

Things come up - illnesses, family emergencies, work - they need to have an Official Returns policy even if it means no or limited refunds

I got wrang off the copper for stroking it !

Thing jumped up at me
Haha we must’ve gone in quite soon after you cos the female copper was like “DON’T STROKE THE DOG DON’T STROKE THE DOG!” as we approached the turnstile

I was like “fine love a wasn’t going to man”

It’s interesting because I managed to get a ticket for my son for an away game (Brighton mebbes?) this season when he’d initially missed out and then some popped up on the website.

I assumed they were just returns.

Mebbes it’s time dependant so can’t do it just a few days before hand but then with digital tickets or duplicates available to pick up on the day that shouldn’t be an issue

Being unable to attend an away game at the last minute has happened to me once in the past 25 years.

The Mags allow away ticket holders to forward away tickets to anyone twice per season. This is to cover being unable to attend due to unforseen circumstances. Neither the original ticket holder or the new recipient get a loyalty point.

Seems sensible to me.

No I don’t, but I have always managed to get tickets and always enjoyed going to games. I’m just upset that I can’t go. You don’t have to be a dick about it though.

Exile is a term. Yes, misused but we use it anyway. There are many reasons we live away. Again you don’t have to be a dick about it.

I could say that those of us who went to lots of away games that went to general sale during the L1 days should have credit in the bank over those that are only interested now that we are in the prem.

I personally think that a fair percentage of a ground should be given over to away fans like in the FA cup. Especially in these days of super stadia.

Of course it is and good on them

But you can’t then start referring to yourself as an exile as if you’ve been hard done by and expect special treatment for away tickets

You make your choices in life and I have no doubt moving away is the right one for many people and good on them - but one of the negative aspects is that you won’t get to the match (unless you commit to travelling the length of the country every week, like our away support do)

As above

I thought yesterday was one of the least intrusive of the season, someone checking your ticket (fair) then a cursory “search”, no airport type security gate, no sniffer dogs (when I went in) no one with wand checking for whatever they’re checking for, overall a piece of cake, apart from them trying to send us to L when ticket said K but overall no chew at all.
It was brilliant yesterday, the way it should be getting into a football stadium. Stewards were all spot on, including during the game and on the way out. Steward by the exit of block 23 was wishing everyone a safe journey home and genuine with it.

Treat people like human beings and they will behave as such. Anfield take note.

We arrived at 2.35 and took less than a minute to get in.

Arrived at anfield earlier in the season, similar size away end , got to the away turnstiles 25 mins before kick off and missed the first 5 mins of the game.

How can they be so different?

I also got told very aggressively not to stroke the dog. The @Forrest Gump legacy 😂

To be honest, and given the clubs drive to be carbon neutral, dragging thousands of fans 300 miles to watch the match makes no sense at all.

If the club are serious about green credentials and making a difference environmentally, they need to be allocating away tickets based on fans living closest to the ground in question.

Would also mean the away end hasn’t been up since 4.00am and would boost the enthusiasm, energy and support.
