ID checks for away tickets

Several just out of my circle of friends / acquantances. Everybody knows people doing it.

Apparently it's only a few % that are marked to be checked and i've heard quite a few people being turned away. So what does that tell you?

Are you seriously risking travelling the length of the country n potentially stading outside rather than just drop some Id in your pocket?

Yes and as I have said, we know people are doing it but lets not go OTT as it is honestly not that bad, unless you are one of the closed shop gang as well and that would explain you trying to push things pal.

It is a closed shop - it's a fact. If you read through the thread I've pointed out that I only do a few aways each season and get my tickets off others. So this ID check stuff is worse for me.

I haven't had decent points since Roy Keane days. But I still don't think it's fair that people who have genuinely built up 15 to 20 points are shut out from buying by people who can now buy every game knowing that they can easily pass it on.

It's just plain stupid to downright deny that it's an issue.

I checked my emails constantly on the way down..had nowt..got the turnstile at about 2.45.. ticket cancelled. No idea from any of the stewards. Eventually went to the home ticket office which was at the opposite end of the ground and after a bit of back and forth, they printed me a ticket. Got in the ground after 1510.

Turns out the email advising me I'd been selected for ID check was in my spam email.

that's a shame. i would contact the ticket office and explain what happened. if you do, let us know what happens.
for man city both myself & the mrs received nothing whatsoever via email into either the main or junk inboxes. got to the turnstile and it just said 'nah, you're not getting in' went to the ticket office window next door and it was sorted straight away. we do tend to get to the ground quite early mind.

As far as I can tell all they’ve done is not awarded you a point as you didn’t attend the game. Maybe they’re removing points if the ticket isn’t used.

Doesn’t need to be a section 75 (don’t even know what that is tbh) just get in touch with the bank and get it back goods not received sorted 👍

Out of curiosity mate when did it actually go in your spam? Wonder who else got checked was bricking it on way down as the boy (8) was using someone’s ticket and was wondering if we’d get stopped 🤦

Went in Friday night but I didn't see it till Sunday
