ID checks for away tickets

Are RAWA getting involved in this or not as it all seems to be an absolute joke.

As I said for most away days I drive the day before, I have no photo ID with me nor will take any, so then what happens??

I didn’t even get a ticket for Brighton despite emailing them four times, decided against going, at 5am and the ticket had still not landed, asked ticket office for refund they said no so I done a section 75 on them.
They just tell lies to suit their position.
Incompetent set of twats.

So again, where is our RAWA rep and why is this not getting brought up

Let’s be real, it’s in a few walks of life isn’t it. Going out for a drink, you take your ID on the off chance you’re not allowed in (I know America is shit hot). 99% sure the likes of Ed Sheeran are taking the same stance to stop touting. Going to the bank etc etc. If you say “I don’t carry ID” when you know checks are a possibility, that’s on you I’m afraid

at the risk of defending the ticket office i don't see they've done much wrong tbf. i wonder if the message you had regarding the situation is just a generic one they've knocked up?
the only thing they might have done is that once you'd confirmed you weren't going would've been to put it back on sale.
I get that mate. They've done what they felt they needed to do but sometimes its not what you do but how you do it. These lads have probably been fans for decades, they must be amongst the very most loyal that we have because they got tickets for Brighton and travelled all that way. This is how the TO deals with it's most loyal customers. We are not talking about BT, or the Banks or the Energy coy's who have millions of customers and treat them all as a number. These guys cant move their allegiance elsewhere so they shouldn't be taken for granted and should be treated with a little respect. I'd have been gutted to get one of those letters, it would have ruined my Xmas. Why couldn't they have simply written asking for an explanation and taken it from there. Instead you get a standard letter that has taken no time or thought whatsoever. Then again it's our TO we are talking about so frankly nothing should surprise us

Private business requiring identification to ensure the person who has purchased their goods and service is the one who is using them.

You may not like it but it's well within their right.

Fair dos mate
Premier League rules dictate that fans have to carry I.D. incase of a check to stop touting etc. You accept the rules / t&c's when you buy the ticket.

Well I have certainly followed Premier League football more than just this season and at no point have I ever needed my ID, I don't carry it in life and I wont be starting, so at some point I suppose I will encounter a problem. Ha

A section 75 only covers purchases of £100 - £30,000 so I suspect you'll not get any joy that way unfortunately.

As far as I can tell all they’ve done is not awarded you a point as you didn’t attend the game. Maybe they’re removing points if the ticket isn’t used.

Already refunded, 5 digital bits of evidence to say they would send the ticket and here I am, still waiting.
Even if they then come back with some clueless excuse I have their email evidence to say it will be there by the Friday afternoon.

again, i'm not defending them but i wouldn't expect a hand delivered letter either. it certainly wouldn't have ruined my christmas. i'd have been a bit miffed but in the case of gom just accepted what should've happened anyway and in the case of tunstall i'd be contacting them and making them aware of their mistake and offered proof of the ticket being collected.
i only posted for balance using my experience. i did read somewhere that if you get bad service you tell 10 people but if you get good service you tell 1.

There are plenty on here in favour of ID checks too. Hard for RAWA to go steaming in on it on that basis.

Tunstallhill losing a point when he went to the match is the sort of farce that everyone would want sorting though.

Why though? Passing on of tickets is not as widespread as the "Closed shop gang" will have us all believe, it is not miraculously going to all of a sudden "free" up hundreds of tickets for the closed shop gang to cling on to. Nothing is going to change

I recon 200+ were on sale from people for Brighton like, also know loads who got tickets and didn’t bother going.
