ID checks for away tickets

The great thing here is the club are clearly looking at ways to amend the current system which clearly isn’t working as the current rules are either unworkable or openly flouted.

Disgusting really the self entitlement of some on here and funny how they’ll do anything to distract from the fact that our away ends contain a large proportion of fans who have no right to be standing there.

Just bought 6 for mates, I’ve no intention of going but I’m delighted it will wind you right up.

Club are looking at ways to amend current system but making it worse for fans who go via branches? So you’re saying the current system isn’t fair? Fair few including me think it is fair.
Yet you want the club to change it so it makes it unfair on the lads who followed and put in the miles in the dark days of league 1 and go via brnaches? Doesn’t make sense mate Do you realise how much work goes into the branches ensuring people who wanted/deserve tickets get there’s.

I don’t think they are mind. It’s more of a warning about what other clubs might do

Wow.

When I left Sunderland in 1992, my local MP was Chis Mullin and I was proud of the region I came from, it’s working class principles and the honest, straight, caring attitude of the population.

Sometimes I come on here and get really upset at what has become of the Sunderland I knew- “Sit where you like”, “Stand up if you want”, “My ticket, I’ll do what I want with it”- basically no time or respect for others- none of this would have happened back in the day. The influence of the right wing, a Johnson government and particularly Farage have a lot to answer for.

I really have no interest in any more discourse with you. I told you were were talking shit when you were trying to organise protests to get KLD and Speakman out of the club, I told you you were talking shit when you were spouting rot about Tommy Watson not being a footballer. I’ll just sit tight and wait for you to be proved wrong again.

Had you worked harder at school, you may have better things to boast about than your BCPs.

Just clarify why it's worse for Branches? I don't go via a Branch and haven't been a member although maybe I should join the London branch, but surely if you have got the points you get the tickets

It's creating much more work for branches as when a branch buys 40 tickets, for example, they now have to ensure that each ticket is specifically given to the named person on the ticket in case they're pulled out for an ID check. This is more of a problem with paper tickets. At least with NFC tickets, the branch could purchase the 40 tickets as normal and each person downloads their own link. Previously they'd give an adult ticket to an adult and an over 65 ticket to an over 65.

Even with digital tickets (Burnley for example) the name and customer number is on the E Mail so that's just forwarded on to the correct supporter (when the E Mails were all sent to the lead bookers).

Branches don't get any benefits with the current system so it may just revert to individuals purchasing their own tickets and then just arranging travel themselves in the future. This will just increase workload for the ticket office and generate more postage and therefore will inevitably result in additional delays in postage and an increase in tickets not being received in time and therefore more duplicates, in addition to any ID checks, being required to be collected at the away ground.

For example two lads who'd been advised of the ID check at Manchester City, went to the ground for 1:30 as opposed to leaving the pub at 2.15 as they normally would to ensure there were no issues in collecting their tickets.

So, in your opinion, people without any points and no season card taking up places in the away end is fair? That is what is happening under the current system.

I don’t think May would agree that was fair.

He’ll of ally of work for branches. Can you really see the ticket office wanting to deal with these tickets in smaller groups then present?

Extra work for the person running the branch not only that poster safc2012 hits it on the head for the issues with the ticket office

Many do think it’s fair there ticket end of the day. What’s to say those people you say with out points or season cards havnt bought the ticket last min as somethings came up for Theo original buyer? Or would you rather it go to waste? I can tell you now not many people would chew on trying to find a buyer who has the right points and season card if something has came up they’ll just want shot of it

Im assuming you will be going to Everton in the FA Cup when we get offered 7k tickets?

If we don't sell out, this thread is instantly shut down.

I agree. That’s why the club need to come up with a better system or remove the rule that tickets aren’t allowed to be transferred. No point in having unenforced T&Cs.

I’m unsure how selling out Everton means that there will be no people in the Weat Ham away end with zero points?

Can you join those dots for me?

Depressing.

Got you, thats an added bit of hassle for sure. But if you apply for the 40 paper tickets cant the club send them directly to the buyers (as they would do for everyone else) rather than giving you the job of doing it. I guess the big benefit is that you can all sit together

They’ll just goto who purchased them (lead booker)

The system just pulls through the lead booker account details.

Large proportion? Not a fact mate
