ID checks for away tickets

I'll almost certainly try and take the bairn to his first away game for Everton, but tbh I'm not sure he'll get a ticket even for this one. New ground, and loads of people haven't been able to go to any this season, so I have a feeling it'll sell sell out well before the "any season ticket holder" phase

Nah - thick end of 8000 tickets should go something like 15 points, 5 points, season ticket holders. Maybe even straight from 15 to STH as no way we have more 7500 on 15+ points

You'll be fine. What a day they'll have with 7/8000 other fans. Memories that will last a lifetime. Mind, my first away game was Everton at Goodison of course. Behind the goal in those days. Started well going ahead (Ian Wallace I think lol) but then they scored 4 and i think 3 of them made goal of the season lol. 84/85 I think. They had a great side mind and won the league and we all know what happened to us that season

Really hope it goes to the all season ticket holder phase for him like. Not sure when he'd get another chance for an away, good stadium to go to, bound to be a cracking atmosphere and, given we're obviously going to have to concentrate on the league this season, it's good that there won't be the tension that you'd get in a make or break league game!

Never any problems with away tickets back in the late 90s/early 00s in the PL under Reidy.

Maybe go back to that system? Just hoy ya voucher in and receive ya paper ticket

Which I get mate, but then people can't twist and twine when they have the chance
Well, if I was on 19 points and had wanted to go to the Ethiad but couldn’t get a ticket because of places taken up by people on zero points, I would feel entitled to twist tbh.

Strange how people think that an away tie in the cup at Everton means that there’s nowt wrong with people with no entitlement taking up places in away ends. 🤷‍♂️

The People passing on points narrative, is it really as widespread as what you are making out??
As some-one said there are a lot of feet stomping going on of late, not the same when we played Bristol City away last season though, eh.

I think there's been discussion around this for two seasons. I remember really struggling to get a couple of tickets for Rotherham around the Xmas/New Year and I came on here and I'm pretty sure there were debates being had back then

Have you read the thread. Full of people who regularly do it and furthermore see nothing wrong with it.

Which I would expect for somewhere like Rotherham as its a smaller allocation and as you say around Christmas which is also a popular time

As we all do- it was just a question. If you had you would realise how wide spread it appears to be.

Why would I want a ballot? I think we should have a system which means our away end is filled with the fans who’ve put in the most miles following the lads. Not sure how a ballot would facilitate this.

Ok, was just asking the question.

How wide-spread it "Appears" to be??? Hit the word on the head there mind.

See you down Everton then pal.

I've been told by a lad who works on the Man City / Etihad campus that the turnstiles we used at the weekend were only installed this summer, and include facial recognition software.

Whilst it's primarily been put in place to quickly identify those banned from grounds, there is also a suggestion that other PL clubs will follow suit and, in due course, your facial scan at the ground will need to correspond with a photograph held / data received from the issuing club. So basically not dissimilar to these automated passport machines at the airport.

It might take a few years, but I can see it coming and at that point, each PL club will know exactly who is in their ground and if they 'deserve' to be there (on their terms, of course).

If they’re similar to the ones used at the airport like you suggest, then the queues to get in will be horrendous.
