ID checks for away tickets

So what about people who buy every away game (me) but then get called away on short notice ie sometimes a Friday morning I get a call what would you like me to do? Post on Facebook asking who only has 11 points and give me ticket to them? No once I buy that ticket that’s mine down to me who I give it to long as I’m not touting and can vouch for who it goes to if it goes tits up
I take your point but I think that technically, the ticket is sold as “not transferable” so technically what you’re doing contravenes the rules.

Your circumstances are valid though which is why the system needs looking at. As was said earlier, there needs to be a way for you to return a ticket to the club and it to be made available to fans with sufficient points. This is what we should be working towards.

Technically it's not down to you. The club can void any ticket that has been transferred without their agreement in accordance with the terms and conditions. They are not transferrable without their consent.

Awww Iv had many conversations about it, especially Theolder generation find digital a lot of hassle. But to run a branch then get told start of season most tickets are digital and the pass those about to who needs them and who needs what it’s a lot of chew.
Man Utd didn’t work out well for them tbh I took me son scanned him in then scanned mine and wouldn’t let me use that turnstile stewards were no help either ended up getting me son brought out the fire exit and off home we went
Same for me yesterday mate .my 8 year old boy went in first .my ticket woudnt scan .it took 5 miniutes to get him out we waited at the ticket office to be told my ticket had already been scanned .hour later and 90 quid spent we off back home .I will never go back to man city or Liverpool they horrendous grounds for security. Thousands of stewards everywhere.its like a police state..football is about a day pf enjoyment.at Liverpool a young lad got arrested for tragedy chanting and got took to a police station .they got the wrong lad and brought him back 1 hour later

Or even potentially be allowed to pass the ticket onto a friend or family member with a valid customer number or season ticket...for a limited number of games. Maybe 1 or 2 per season to account for changes of plans or circumstances.

There definitely needs to be some sensible discussion / adjustments made to ensure that people aren't just accumulating points with no intention of going.

Who’s going to tell them? 🤷🏼‍♂️ I can tell you now that Iv never had the ticket what’s been on my account for an away not once, couldn’t even tell you who’s used that said ticket they could of been an absolute knacker for all I know

Agreed. This is why we should also put stop to club friends , staff , players family and coorperates who haven't attended the most away games also getting access to away tickets .

If we are going to be strict with the normal fans then the same rules need to apply to the privileged
You know what, I agree.

IF the stated principle is that tickets should go to loyalist away fans, then the club should be working towards a system that facilitates this.

Yeh i get it and as I mentioned earlier in the thread, I've been sorted out loads by friends etc. But it's not a fair / suitable system when the demand is too high.

This is such a sensible idea.

Nonsense.

Do people seriously think City give a shit about our loyalty system? The checks have nothing to do with stopping tickets getting passed on, they're designed to make sure they don't have bellends in the ground.

I was there yesterday in L1 and can confirm there was a very large representation of bellends in there.

Horrible that mate imagine that poor lad?
I know how you feel luckily for me I had soem mates who went in just before me son so they got him out and I knew he was safe but still horrible feeling. £60 down in tickets plus petrol money and was half way home before it even finished

Nonsense.

Why should some people, who have zero purchase history with the club and zero loyalty points, have legitimate access to away tickets?

The club appear to be clamping down on people sharing their tickets with other fans, but are happy themselves to hand out tickets to people who aren't even sunderland fans .

It's double standards

The fairest , fairest way - although unworkable - would be for 100% of away tickets to be sold in phases and every single ticket checked for ID on the way in, and a system set up to transfer your ticket to someone should you have to drop out, and that other person gets the loyalty point instead of you

Well they let me in yesterday and I'm a bellend

I know its an unpopular opinion but I couldn't give a shit about branches needing to fill buses either.

They shouldnt be able to use numbers of non-attenders to fill a bus
For some reason, the branches seem to be coming in for a bit of stick on here despite the fact, as you say, they are the life blood of the support.
Doesn't mean they should be above the rules when it comes to tickets though

Yep, branch organisers putting in hours of voluntary work to run busses and sort tickets and millions of other things, taking coach loads to mid week away games in league one , every match season after season without fail....now all of sudden they need shutting down ..it stinks..

If we ever end up back in league one there is going egg on a lot of people's faces

It's a tricky one I agree. But I also think the branches need protection

You think corporates shouldnt get tickets despite putting more into the club to subsidise your ST. Double standards 😂
