ID checks for away tickets

I’ve got a shoe box full of tickets from 25 years of away games and it’s quite sad not to have that permanent reminder to where I’ve been over the years.
Exactly the same and completely agree, was showing the bairn earlier in the year and was amazing telling him about each game etc. everything being digital now means they wont be able to do that with their kids. I’ve even started buying the commemorative tickets for certain gigs now just so have that paper reminder

You won't mate, I'm not going, when I was 18 to 30 I can count on 1 hand how many away games I missed a season but growing up and having a family means it's harder to get to them now.

Well done for being me 20 years ago 🤣

Bring back 3 points.

Fair play mate, I do appreciate circumstances change. I am not you 20 years ago though. I am probs you "now" but following Sunderland home and away is my hobby which has thankfully carried on in my life.

I will try mate. Ha

Given the email from the club doesn’t specify photo id and a birth certificate is a valid form of id in the UK I might start a side hustle on forged birth certificates.

Just need the name and DOB of the person you’ve bought the ticket off and bosh 🤣😉

When you get to a certain age it's the only way you know for sure that you were at a particular game as they all start to merge ;-) I still keep all my paper tickets. I was in my lads bedroom on wednesday (he moved out a couple of years ago) as he couldn't find a particualr scarf and wondered whether he'd left it and he wanted it for the match. I didnt find it but i did find a box with all of his ticket stubs in, didn't realise he had kept them, made me quite emotional tbh

Here man, bore off with this. Those who are now on high points because of putting the miles in for the League One days/championship days are now thinking, - Oh I tell you what, I don't fancy City away, lets pass my details on.
Whats the issue with the checks then if they're all above board?

I’ve been supporting Sunderland for over 20 years I’ve been to over 40 stadiums and I go when I can to games. I can’t get a season ticket due to financial and ethical reasons. I have been there in the cold and wet in league 1, the championship and the bad years in the prem. And now they’re trying are making it difficult for people like me to go to games. This is not fair.

Trying to think what ethical reasons stop you getting a season ticket? Bit of a bizarre thing.

Are you on a wind-up?

I have mates already in Manchester with no ID, so what are they supposed to do?? Or are you a bit slow??

You again - Deffo a WUM
That scenario wasn't on the post I replied to. If this is regular going forward then the club should say and then people are prepared and don't get caught out.

I loved having a paper ticket as a memento for an away day, same stands for gig tickets. Was always excited to get me match tickets in the post to see what thet ticket designs and colours of a club I'd not been to before looked like
