ID checks for away tickets

What if there's a family emergency or you're ill just before the game?

There has to be a way to pass on the ticket in case of illness / emergency etc - and the club can monitor to make sure it's not regular. If someone gets 19 loyalty points but only goes to 6 away games all season then that's not really fair and it's what the club are trying to stamp out, which is fair enough.

The friends and family of players getting tickets in the away end is puzzling to me

SAFC will get a number of tickets for people like KLD, Speakmann, and other club officials. Would make more sense for them to also get tickets in the main stand / corporate area for friends and family of players rather than use the 3,000 that should go to fans

As a fan I’d like to think that every other person in the away end is a die hard SAFC fan

Have started.
Similar kind of things have been going on a long time now. The last time we were in the premier, Chelsea away, a lad I was with was turned away.
He could not prove his age, and that was with a paper ticket.
The ticket was confiscated but I don't know if any action was taken.

Tbf, you couldn’t sell in your ticket for £400 in league one.

This step is absolutely reasonable and overdue and we should question the motives of anyone who objects to it.

I’ve no problems with them doing this. What I do have a problem with is doing it with no prior announcement that it might even happen.

There could be fans in Manchester now, who’ve gone down for the weekend, with no ID and therefore can’t access their own ticket.

Can I just ask what your opposition to digital tickets is?

Not saying you're wrong by the way, or saying I think that digital should be a requirement. I'm just curious because as somebody who has my phone on me whenever I'm not in the house I prefer digital tickets for everything! One less piece of paper to lose.
I’ve got a shoe box full of tickets from 25 years of away games and it’s quite sad not to have that permanent reminder to where I’ve been over the years.
