I'd like to think there'll be an overall improvement in our balance and play.

We were over reliant on Clarke providing the magic last season, but at times a lot of it was down to how poor we were everywhere else.

The full back situation was a mess. Hume's a good player, but the daft wandering into midfield role he was playing killed us far more often than it provided any benefit to us. We lost Cirkin. Then we couldn't make our minds up whether it should be Huggins LB and Hume RB or vice versa. It just didn't provide an effective base for us going forward, so we tended to bypass everything else and simply feed Clarke. Fingers crossed Cirkin is back, and we can get some more effective and balanced play going on both flanks.

We were a soft touch in the middle of the park, and we were ponderous in the middle of the park. Hopefully Browne will give us some much needed structure & leadership in there. Get the ball moving. Win the ball back. Take better care of it. And feed the front 3.

Our forwards weren't up to much last season, but too often we left them isolated as well. Hopefully whoever we have up top next season will benefit from better wing play from settled full backs and a solid midfield behind him. Then if by any luck we can keep Clarke, and get Roberts going again, we'll be giving teams something to think about again.

Glass half full I know but we're not a million miles away.

Not having someone up top who can hold the ball and bring the rest of our attack into play is where we've fell to bits. Not having that outlet pushed us deep and we concentrated on keeping possession of thrather than doi

Did you see him in his game against us for Blackpool?
It's irrelevant when you put that against his overral career since leaving those top sides. Anyone can have a day when everything goes well, but his number of minutes for a 24 year old is really poor and not sure why people are going ott with this one.

He is another signing in a wide area very similar to all the others signed who had failed to settle elsewhere a big clubs . He will be a useful option to rotate and bring off the bench when we need creativity and has efl experiences aswell . Me personally I'll judge him in a Sunderland AFC Shirt

An able striker with Clarke, Jobe, and Roberts should cause problems for most defenses in the league, but losing Clarke would be a huge blow now that it looks like the club have a striker that can do the things that expected of him.

If we are to sell Clarke, I'd like to see a push for Millar and Stansfield. I'd see those kinds of signings as real proof that the club are looking towards promotion.

It's not irrelevant really though is it. Hes supposedly had a fair few injuries. Hes still only 24 and with a pedigree of the teams previously mentioned. Plus he took the piss out of us first hand. We've already seen what he's capable of now we just need to hope he can be more consistent, which hopefully will come from a bit of stability. I think it's an exciting signing. I see your point that he could have had a fortunate day against us though, I just think he'll be Good competition for Roberts on a free.

Haven’t seen anyone be OTT.

Talent but not the application probably.
There's loads on today thinking this kid is the answer to potentially Clarke leaving. Again nothing about him in his recent career is worth getting the excited about.

It's his lack of games over a sustained period that needs to be questioned for a 24 year old.

Does he not mainly play on the RW?

Like I said, he's had a fair share of injuries iirc.
