Lived in Hill View Gdns just off Bainbridge Road. Was the Rosedene a pub back then? He seems the sort to get in there.

Think it was originally at the bottom of Strawberry Bank and was moved to its present location? Probably well before WW2 like.

Haway man 55 OTU trained a load of Czech RAF pilots at Usworth who died protecting this region and got buried at Castletown. Bit respect is owed.
