Fans generally don’t look at player selection with opposition in mind. Elite managers do. When you think of the impact the likes of Ndiye had last week and the Chelsea left side yesterday you begin to understand their thinking.

Gerty was literally popping up all over the shop yesterday. As was Mukiele at times. They both need covering and Hume is the perfect man for that role.

He's not the future, he can't dribble, push the ball past a defender, or beat him in any other way and he often struggles to find a team mate who is in a good position. However, despite this, he's far from useless, he does some quite useful things in fact, which is often more than what the other wingers can muster (I know they are young) but at present they really aren't offering much.

Hopefully we can buy an oven ready rw in the summer
