Hume Hybrid Role

It’s how you’re interpreting it.

A player having the lowest pass % does not immediately mean they’re an issue. It depends how much of the ball they’re having and also what they’re being asked to do with the ball
It’s consistent though every week he’s the lowest. Today there’s a bit of mitigation as it sounds like he was on set pieces.

People getting on Humes back man

we have lost 3-0 to the champions elect where Hume played well and made some cracking passes as well as free kicks

The hybrid role has worked in lots of games but today is not a game to judge any of them really
People aren’t really getting on Hume’s back it’s more the system and the roll he’s asked to play. Just think we would be miles more effective playing a proper wide player there

RLB plays defensive its what he does and in time we might see two wide attacking players but never away at Arsenal under RLB

The system works and works well but today is not the day to judge it as Arsenal are a class act

The point I’m making stands for every week

The poster is right in that he has a poor pass %, but that in itself doesn’t mean much unless we have additional information about what he’s being asked to do and how many touches he has and passes he’s attempting

I say this as somebody that thinks Hume isn’t cut out for the level we’re pushing towards

Surely play a winger in his natural position. Soon as we go 1 down away from home it’s a massive uphill battle for us. Don’t understand trying to force Hume into the team.
Yeah i must admit when we are behind the one thing RLB doesnt do is react quickly and bring that winger on just think at the minute we are limited on that right side with Traore being injured. Hopefully this new lad comes in and does the job

So why aren’t all the other players the same they all get judged on the same metrics , we sign players based on their stats why can’t we judge our own by them ???

Le Bris obviously rates Hume and plays him even out of position.

I agree with others that he’s not a premier league midfield player and it showed again at times this afternoon.

I think another midfield player will be brought in next summer. You can’t build a whole squad in one or two windows.
