Hume Hybrid Role

The kid we signed yesterday is predominantly a left winger.

Hume's hybrid role isn't easy despite what others think. Let's face it Mukiele was bombed out of PSG for a reason. He's very strong, quick and a very good footballer. Perhaps it was for his defensive indiscipline? He bombs forward great but he isn't the quickest to get back. Hume is. He's a defender first. He spots danger. Sometimes he'll just sit, others he'll run back to cover. He's not marking the same man all game like most players. He's probably picking up at least 2 maybe more.

He is allowing Mukiele to do as he pleases without any thought about leaving us exposed at the back. It's a massive asset to us have him bombing on and getting crosses in as proven again last night. Hume is playing a bit part in that. Other times he's getting in the box himself. A true all-rounder.
Yes that’s what all players playing in front of a fullback are expected to do your dressing someone up for doing the basics yes he’s getting in the box …. And missing … every week
No knocking Hume....

"He just stands on the touchline doing nowt. The lad looks lost"

That’s exactly what he did first half he got more into the game second half

Didn’t say he was we need someone with goal threat and assists out there wtf ya talking about man I haven’t got a clue about formations :-O
You did. You said "he just stands on the touchline doing nowt, looks lost. I cant wait to get a proper winger out there". I mean, it might just be me, but that definitely reads as if you think he's playing as a winger

It takes some doing but you have the least amount of football knowledge of everyone on here, mind. Proper clueless.
He had a solid game against the shittest team in the league how was he the previous few weeks ?

I said I can’t wait to have a proper winger out there yes that’s not saying home is playing as an out and out winger because he couldn’t if he tried

You initially said he didn’t have a good game. Now you’re saying he had a solid game. Make your mind up.

Last week? He was absolutely abysmal last week. He didn’t do anything right, even the basics.

But I don’t have an agenda and I can assess his games on a per game basis. Unlike you that just hates him for some reason.

Have you ever played football at any level
Still play now

Nilson Angulo is predominantly a left winger. Who are the two right wingers we've signed?

I mean not that it's a bad thing.

:cool:ptions

Look at this man, great goals from Angulo out on the left, cutting in n that

Do you understand the word "predominantly " ?

Have you even watched the vid? I reckon you've just watched the first couple of clips as most of it he's on the left

Within one page it's gone from stood about doing nowt and looking lost to he had a solid game

Will check back later, probably gone from Messi to Gareth Hall and back.
Give a penalty against Everton and should of been another pen

He’s both footed.

You don't need to tell me. It was you telling everyone he's a right winger. When it was highlighted he's not you changed to saying he will be played on the right here. When asked how you knew, nowt. Instead posting a vid thinking it proved he was a right winger. It didn't. It simply cemented the fact he's predominantly a left winger, who cuts in on his right. Now you've bizarrely just changed to stating he can play with both feet, which was never part of the debate.

Good work.

So to conclude, he's predominantly a left winger who cuts in, but could be used on the right. Champion. I mean it's nothing new to what we didn't already know but still.

He was unlucky last night, good block. Unlucky with a shot that hit the bar a few games ago too. Yeah he's missed a couple of ones he should have hit the target.

He isn't doing a normal wingers job at all. At one point last night he was actually playing right back with Mukiele having a good old wander. For a team like us with fewer attacking options Mukiele bombing forward is a god send. For a team like PSG or say Man City that might be seen as a down side. They have loads of wonderful attackers, some of which don't and can't defend. You need your defender to be more disciplined. That isn't Nordi Mukiele.

He’s cutting in from both sides

I never said Hume was a right winger your talking shite I said I can’t wait to see a right winger out there , he’s only playing there out of necessity every wide player winger or wide midfielders job is to cover their fullback man it’s basics he won’t be in the team when traore is fit
