I agree with a fair bit of the above but we hardly started in sleep mode in the 2nd half, Defoe had a great chance before they'd even threatened, admittedly we then seemed to sit back too much but I can't recall ever being worried with any effort from Burnley in that second half, not really sure Pants had a save to make......yes Burnley are a bottom half team, but so are we and so are West Brom, QPR, Leicester, Villa and Palace and I'd gladly take the same result and performance as today in all of those games, we aren't suddenly going to turn into world beaters and it ain't gonna be pretty so i guess we have to take what we can get at the minute
gladly take that result but the performance was a solid 6/10 nothing more. the chances were there for burnley but they fluffed them all. we were back on our toes second half as soon as they stopped hitting hollywood balls and started passing it. rev was very good, bridcutt had one of his better games and we got 2 goals, they were the positives for me.

Don't disagree massively with your views, thought they had a couple of good opportunities first half but huffed and puffed without doing anything in the second.....we carried Gomez all game, not sure what he has to do to be left out or subbed

another set of mental subs.swapped the 2 forwards when we were struggling in midfield and how the fuck gomez lasted 90 minutes again defies belief.

im a cock man mate what can i say.

fuckin hell man:oops:. massive three points, desperately needed but fuck me that was 20 minutes of ok football encased in 70 minutes of absolute shite. gomez should never wear the shirt again and the second half when we had the chance to push on we came out in sleep mode AGAIN, delighted at dyche's brain fart taking off their 2 biggest threats just as they were getting on top.
You obviously weren't at the game again

Struggling In midfield we were never in any danger! He swapped 2 forwards because the game was won, some people are clueless

At times we were struggling in that area, but got through mainly cos Bridcutt and Larsson were doing the work of 3 men as Gomez once again strolled through the entire 90 minutes, slowed counter attacks down and dawdled on the ball.......the lad can clearly pick a pass but he just isn't up to it at this level any more

Seems like a few on here have a little semi on at the moment, I feel really happy for you right now cos its only been since October when you got the last semi on. Im please we won today, but lets not get carried away it was against Burnley who are below us in the league plus our only second win at home this season, these sort of games should be an easy 3 points.

In reality the points were welcome and we were the stronger side. However, we fell foul of sloppy moves and irresponsible possession boobs again (Mainly Gomez and Bridcutt) and luckily Burnley were poor and ineffective we got away with things.
Maybe I'm wrong but looked like he started as a 4-3-3 formation, then switched to 4-4-2
I did notice though as soon as Defoe went off, we reverted to our normal junk. He is different class, even for his size as he holds the ball well, creates channels and lays off a decent ball and positions himself well... a far cry from what we get from Messrs, Wickham, Fletcher and Co.
For me, Van Arnie was superb, Larsson worked his socks off again and Johnson looked useful. I also liked Rivers on the right and a couple of decent partnerships are evolving.
O'Shea was steady in the middle and even Vergini today was respectable.
Gomez is shocking and a liability and I would have thought he'd be replaced at half time latest, but maybe Gus sees more than others with this guy.
I thought we could have benefitted with Giaca's roaming after Defoe was subbed, but not to be.
All in all, 3 points, a lighter mood and hope we can build onto it for the coming couple of weeks.
I fear though that Gus will field a changed team for Tuesday and fiddle again, hence breaking the momentum somewhat.
DFingers crossed for Tuesday as I believe we need to go all out for that win..for many reasons.

Yeah there were 20 mins left, and we were in control, and he subbed like for like you idiot, oh and the game finished 2-0 so yeah they were poor substitutions!!!
20 mins 0 shots and i suppose you think leaving gomez on was a good decision aswell?.

spot on mate Bridcutt tried but isnt good enough and Gomez may as well not have been on the pitch ,fortunately for once we lloked better than a relagation rival , bodes well

Who f***ing cares how many shots they had in 20 mins! We won the game, he left Gomez on because hes good at keeping possession. Did I miss sumthing and his subs cost us the game
