How good is Bumrah?

I’ve been watching test cricket since 1990 ish. And now he must be up there amongst the very best I’ve seen

Ambrose
Mcgrath
Steyn
Rabada
Waqar
Bumrah

Not in order. He’s nearing the very best…

Probably the best I’ve seen of quicks. Marshall misses out as didn’t see enough

2nd tier

Cummins
Anderson
Wasim
Walsh
Donald
Pollock
Broad

(I have a helmet on for this post)

Nothing 2nd tier about Wasim and Donald

He's an absolute phenomenon. His dismissal of Babar in the World Cup was one of the best live dismissals I've seen.

He's the best cricketer in the world and if he can stay fit could easily end up as guy in everyone greatest XI.

Aussies not happy about his bowling action:

Not his fault having hypermobile joints but it has to give him an advantage as he can add pace without losing accuracy.

I know he doesn’t have long run up but his action looks to me as if it will take its toll and tire him very quickly. But it for any seem to.

He will have a distinct advantage in fading light and when the sun drops. Along with Malinga and Akhtar it will be hard to pick him with confidence. Mulitheran uses his dodgy wrist action to gain extra spin .In the early 80's Yorkshire and England spinner Geoff Cope was banned on 2 occasions which baffled a lot of cricketers and spectators

Comparison of Bumrah and Cummins bowling actions. The straightening of the arm gives him an additional 5kmh.
