I think the wider football world is as shocked as you lot by events in the last 24 hours.

Still, onto the Scum. What better way to ease those blues than by a convincing win over the yellow and green three-toed sister botherers. I reckon a nice 4-0 should do it.

It's still shit in League One by the way. Hopefully not for too much longer!

I hope Ipswich stagnate given how they went on last season and the characters involved. Is that lad formally of Bristol City still there?

Interesting. What is the wider football world's view with regard Alex Neil and his motivations? Our view is that he came here to get off the dole and them move on as quick as he could.

I hope we go after your manager!
Nee chance! Kieron's at the wheel here. Plus he does his own transfers.

No, you'll like Mowbray. I spoke to him on a train once when he played for us in the early 2000's and he couldn't have been nicer. True, he reminded me of a Smog Albert Steptoe a bit and I didn't understand what he said, but he's certainly knowledgeable about trains, and his smile when I offered him a Hob Nob was sincere.

Bet you say that to all the teams playing Norwich.

Aye it would be typical Sunderland to have our manager poached by an uninspiring team in the bottom half of the same league.

Only to be turned down by one in the league below.

Who's playing you in the film?

Well, our view (well, mine) was that Alex Neil looked a lot like Gollum, and though a decent manager, was always prone to want more, especially when he saw Peter Coates' shiny gold ringpiece with its' strange Ork writing glinting like flames.

We've always strongly suspected he'd be prone to follow the shiny gold over building something sustainable and decent and making himself a much-loved legend in Wearside, spoken of in the same hushed tones you normally use when describing Bobby Stokoe and Jimmy Monty. He's not Smeagol you see. You made the same mistake Frodo did.

Who, Ashton? Yes. Wouldn't exactly call him a lad though.

I personally hope we go up. Still do.

Aye and you. Good club Ipswich, incidentally so are your rivals.
