Honeyman to Hull?


It’s interesting how the abilities and attributes of footballers can be interpreted in different ways by groups of football supporters.

E.g. we sign Dobson, he’s a captain, a leader, low fee, young lad, give him a chance?

We sell Honeyman, he’s a captain, didn’t seem to lead, not exactly young now, fee ok for last year of contract, good luck and goodbye.

He’s been a good servant and is a good lad, I wish him all the best.
 
Well the boo boys have got their wish, massive over reaction on here as to his performances as always, always gave his all and rarely let the team down. Wish the lad the best of luck and will be interested to see who the boo boys get stuck into next, Im assuming it will be Flanagan whose confidence they destroy this season. Best fans in the world though.

He wasnt shite mind, but once peoples minds were made up no matter what he did he was on a hiding to nothing.

I believe that his agent ( you know who she is) has been touting him around. Hull were interested and contacted the club. Valuation was in line with what the club found acceptable.
This maybe why JR wasn’t initially in the loop and supports SD’s comments above.

Makes a lot of sense when you consider the likes of Embleton, Robson & Dobson are all younger, as good and far cheaper.

I guess it could be completely unknown to anyone and a real shock to both football and the non-football people at the club. Maybe Honeyman/his agent have been hawking him about and managed to generate an acceptable bid without the knowledge of anyone. Or someone bid totally out of the blue. It doesn’t seem a huge fee for our captain.

Based on 4 friendly games where we failed to score in 3?

Far too early to be writing signings off or saying we have recruited well. We thought we recruited well in January and it looked a nightmare in hindsight. This is what I mean by I'm accused of an agenda, but blind positivity over absolutely nowt yet.

All he's said is we have cut the wage bill (we have) and seem to have recruited pretty well (an opinion). Don't see why you'd pick fault with that.
