Honeyman to Hull?

Honeyman may not set the world alight but he was capable at this level, the crap he is getting is beyond lunacy, Henderson was getting boo'ed before he went to Liverpool and everyone saying great transfer, look at him now, Honeyman may below the standard of Henderson but shows you what the supporters know most of the time.

I don't recall Henderson ever being booed

yep, absolute revision and horseshit. one of many in terms of team contribution, but saying it was the main reason or one of them is one if the most ridiculous statements ever on this message board and there's been a few.

Nope. Honeyman's performance as a 10 was so poor it yielded 3 assists all season. He didn't know here to be and what to do and simply went back to the central midfield area. This really isolated wyke or Grigg and meant chance creation was very low. Ross shouldn't have changed it up but I said honeyman playing as a 10 was a main reason why we didn't get promoted. Totally stand by it

captain should not be a function of football ability..

roy keane was among the least technically gifted man utd players of his era..great captain though..

its the principal of it..rewrading a player by making them captian is done at the top levels of the game..

Roy Keane was an absolute master at game management. Knew when to speed the game up or slow it down, when to drive forward and when to kill the opposition's momentum.

I wish George well, I had expected him to kick on last season after showing glimpses in the championship but he rarely shone in any position he played in, maybe the pressure of being captain and in the first 11 for his home team every week was too much for him?.....I hope he does well at Hull (possible sell on clause?) and finds his feet as he always put the effort in, it was just quality side of his game that was sadly lacking.

It wasn't just down to Honeyman. Outside of McGeady, the attacking players contributed nothing of note in the last third of the season. Players like Gooch in particular contributed even less than Honeyman.

People have spent over a year saying he is shit, does nothing and is National League standard and yet somehow think we should get more than £400K for him.

About as odd as people thinking he is shit and yet still wanting him to take a penalty at Wembley.

We have some utter idiots supporting us.
Can't remember saying he's shit, yet I think the quoted fee is low.. I'm not an idiot.

Put that tar brush down

Some lads coming out of the national league have cost more than that. Just this summer Koroma and Bonne both did. The fee means nowt. As does the fact he’s went for Hull. David Ferguson left us and went to captain Blackpool in league 1. A year later he was lining up from shildon.

Lots of decent national league players that just haven’t had the opportunity. Honeyman has came through at a big club & been lucky that the club had back to back relegations and were up shit creek financially. All about opportunity.

All players underperformed I fully agree. Honeyman more so IMO, especially given his 10 position for the majority of the game. Had plenty of cover behind in 2 holding midfielders but still didn't know what to do positionally and it killed us going forward.

Aye, the actual playing football bit.
