can't remember the game but we appealed for a caught behind when the lad had hit his helmet and got nowhere near the ball and was given out:lol:

Willington (who we drew in the cup) finished 4th in the league and by rights should have been promoted. Their lad appealed that they didn't go up though cos they'd lost a few players and would be putting makeshift teams out. Marsden therefore stayed up in Division 1.

There was a chew on what the maximum length a midweek game should be. Apparently Phil's 72 against Wearmouth last year was illegal cos it was on a Monday.

Brandon mate Ian had been desperate to get me on the Management Committe for years managed to avoid it up to now :)

Very respectable finish imo for a brand new team. After that first game in the cup at durham i thought we were going to struggle.

The batsmen who got about 40 had about 9 lives, it was possibly the scruffiest innings I've ever seen. Surpassing the innings from that Bangledeshi lad from Durham, and Sweeney's 25*

The ball seemed to drop everywhere we didnt have a man. That was an early game IIRC as we got our act together after that.
