FFS !! Yes he's one of us but not an international player. Shouldn't have even been in the squad. Rose tinted spectacles again on here

Creates a lot of chances with quick first time balls. He's a good midfielder and had Hamsik in his back pocket. Liverpool would probably have won the title 2 years ago if Henderson hadn't missed the run in.

You can say that but objectively speaking he created all our best chances and was statistically one of the best players on the pitch. Maybe it's you being subjective and viewing him through tinted spectacles?
Statistics ?! Haway man that's how Newcastle beat us !! Our keeper made more saves than theirs. His passing was predominantly the easy option mainly sideways and backwards, he under hit corners and over hit crosses. Got a good engine but we need more of a cutting edge than he offers. Love the fact that he's a local lad made good but that will not cloud my opinion

 Aye, I must admit, I hated writing that, the use of statistics to argue against what you've actually seen is one of my major bugbears! However what I did see was that he made a number of incisive passes (directly created the best two chances of the match for Vardy and Alli, consistently put Clyne in behind to create numerous other opportunities and had two other goal bound efforts blocked) so I would say thay constitutes cutting edge and it's not consistent with you saying he was predominantly taking the easy option and passing sideways and backwards. Also, he kept the ball moving so when he was making those passes they were still to the benefit of the attack.
I wonder if you are letting it cloud your judgement and have gone too far the other way to appear impartial. Don't get me wrong, I know he's limited and will never be a world beater but to say he shouldn't even be in the squad when he directly contributed more than just about any other England player last night would hardly suggest objectivity.

He had more of a cutting edge than anyone else on the pitch, he also made one of the passes of the tournament that should have led to a goal.
Cemented a starting place in the next game imo.

He was bang average. Played a couple of through balls but apart from that he done fuck all in a midfield that was easy to dominate.

How the fuck he is, and ever was, on free kicks I'll never know. Always been shit at them (was f***ing dire when here).

Spent a lot of the match walking around with his opposite number pointing at where players should pass it instead of trying to help out and utilise any space.

Is that when they had Suarez you mean? The guy that made them tick and the team they were? They were shit without him.

This didn't happen. Why do people make stuff up?

I Thought he did well, and he was always there for the ball, always willing to make the pass forward, and help the side keep the ball which at this level is very important, its just a shame we couldn't finsh out the game with the goal we needed to win the group, but we are in the last 16, and just have to wait and see who we have next, from Group F, may that be Iceland hungary or Portugal

If he spent a lot of he match walking round pointing instead of helping out how did he manage to make the 2nd highest number of passes in the team?

Errr cos he also passed about a bit also?

Watch the match again and watch him. The team is crying out for someone to move at times and Hendo is standing about pointing and doing not much else.

I thought he played well and all. A couple of the guys I was watching it with were giving him stick. His set pieces were dreadful, but thought he was one of our best players in terms of his general play.
