So much delusion in one post.

I'll keep it this simple, do you think Benitez has done a good job at Newcastle since he came?
Delusion or a collection of statements that fly in the face of your entrenched partisan position and create within you a cognitive dissonance that you cannot deal with?

Yes I think Rafa Benitez has done a good job under the circumstances.

Really. We go through this shit every week on this forum. Gerrard won him a Champions League medal. He has failed everywhere after that? Well, bar winning relegation last year.
Ok. Thanks for you informed and totally unbiased input

I mean, we both know that Ashley is a lying arsehole so I'm not sure why you'd attempt to paint him as anything but a lying arsehole.
We also know that the bigger picture of Newcastle's relegation shifts a lot of the blame from Rafa Benitez and onto Ashley, Charnley, McClaren and his predecessors
We also know that Newcastle are on course for a >92pt season which is comfortably enough to win the title and beyond defeating the challengers when Newcastle meet them, there's not much that Newcastle United can do to prevent other clubs also being on course for >90pt seasons, so "running away" with a league isn't really up to us.
Finally, we also know that while a lot of money was spent, all of it was from player sales and when you buy 1 keeper, 2 fullbacks, 2 centre backs, 4 midfielders, and two strikers, £55m isn't actually a staggering sum.

But I know that rather than trying to make a valid point, your post was instead a display of your club allegiance. Because to show your love Sunderland, you must show your hate Newcastle. That's ok, I forgive you.
Go on then, show me where I've done that.

What circumstances? You're painting a picture like he's be hard done by or something. He's created the majority of problems he's faced at Newcastle. All this "if a bigger club comes in for him" shite, like who? His career is on a downward spiral. That's why nobody came in for him in the summer.

:lol::lol::lol:

i expected this but felt the need to share with the lovely people of the SMB!
I heard similar from a media pal weeks ago (I posted it on here but i think it wasn't on a dedicated thread) had it confirmed again by a poster who has already commented so it could have legs, tbh I'm not arsed either way but I suppose any unrest up the road is welcome.

He'll leave in the summer amidst all of this "unrest" and still be labelled a hero for leaving them in a worse position than when he started.

Gives the unwashed another excuse to jip Fat Mike anarl, though in reality he hasn't done a lot wrong for ages.....

Benitez was assured control of the transfers. Expecting those assurances to be upheld is not holding someone to ransom. Ashley lied and Rafa is within his rights to be angry/frustrated about that.

Not hard done by anywhere outside of Wearside to be honest. Everyone else seems totally comfortable with agreeing Benitez needed longer to rescue Newcastle from relegation than he had. 1.3PpG would be enough for 46pts over the course of a season, unfortunately the 13pts he won in 10 games wasn't enough for survival in the 15/16 season. Had McClaren been fired after the embarrassment against Chelsea Benitez would have 18 days to organise the team for games against Stoke and Bournemouth.

It's utter nonsense to declare that Benitez ( in the job for a little over a year) has created for the "majority of the problems". The problems he's faced include but aren't limited to; a poorly coached squad (McClaren, Carver, Pardew's legacy), no window to change the relegated squad (Charnely & Ashley not getting shot of McClaren), a legacy of signing players disinterested in playing for Newcastle United beyond using it as a stepping stone, an unbalanced squad, an abandonment of youth teams, a disenfranchised support.

How many of these problem that he has faced are of his own making?

I hope that no bigger club comes in for him because he's the best manager that Newcastle United are going to get for a long time. Under this owner we're more likely to see another Joe Kinnear, or Pardew. Benitez (despite the churlish criticism on here) is clearly a good manager, with trophies and league titles to his name, he wants to rebuild the club and has already begun initiatives to fix many of the things listed above.
