If a top club comes in for Rafa there's a very good chance he'll go. Even if no club courts Benitez, Ashley needs to stick to his promises, if he doesn't Rafa will walk away. And nobody could really blame him.

That said, I don't think any of the top English clubs will come in for him. I don't think any of the Spanish, French or German clubs will come calling either.

Arsenal - Sounds like Wenger is signing another 2yr deal, even if he doesn't they'll surely want someone on the up and certainly someone who is closer to Wenger's style?
Chelsea - Conte won't go anywhere this summer so they won't be looking.
Everton - Koeman is doing well and I'd expect him to stay there a while, plus Everton fans aren't massive fans of Rafa since that quote.
Liverpool - Klopp's going nowhere and I'd be surprised if Rafa wanted to go back
Man Utd - Mourinho's going nowhere this summer and they can get pretty much whoever they like
Man City - Guardiola might be under a lot of pressure, but they'd want a higher profile man than Rafa
Spurs - I'd be surprised if Pochettino left and even if he does they'll just go and nab the next big name; Gourvennec, Tuchel or whomever

He would ruin every single one of those clubs. Cannot believe he is even talked about getting any of them, he has done fuck all bar relegate you lot and then, what looks like, get you promoted with a team that would have walked the Championship spending lots of dosh in the process.

What would give Benitez the right to hold Ashley to ransom like? He took Newcastle down from a safe position and hasn't ran away with the Championship despite spending over £50m

Biggest thing for him was the right job in England, so I doubt he'd shift to China.

 Sure thing lil buddy.

I mean, we both know that Ashley is a lying arsehole so I'm not sure why you'd attempt to paint him as anything but a lying arsehole.
We also know that the bigger picture of Newcastle's relegation shifts a lot of the blame from Rafa Benitez and onto Ashley, Charnley, McClaren and his predecessors
We also know that Newcastle are on course for a >92pt season which is comfortably enough to win the title and beyond defeating the challengers when Newcastle meet them, there's not much that Newcastle United can do to prevent other clubs also being on course for >90pt seasons, so "running away" with a league isn't really up to us.
Finally, we also know that while a lot of money was spent, all of it was from player sales and when you buy 1 keeper, 2 fullbacks, 2 centre backs, 4 midfielders, and two strikers, £55m isn't actually a staggering sum.

But I know that rather than trying to make a valid point, your post was instead a display of your club allegiance. Because to show your love Sunderland, you must show your hate Newcastle. That's ok, I forgive you.

So much delusion in one post.

I'll keep it this simple, do you think Benitez has done a good job at Newcastle since he came?
