I think Alex Neil is looking at this squad of players objectively and can see the obvious weaknesses. He will not mince his words which I hope will upset some players, shame !

We keep hiring dour managers like Neil. Already can’t wait to get rid of him. The football tonight was unforgivably bad. Aimless long balls, shocking.Came in moaning about the squad all being at different levels of fitness, excuses at the ready.
No huge lift, no massive boost. Depressing.
We must be the only team in the country who never gets a mew manager bounce.
Nah he’s made his excuses. His remit is to get promotion. Johnson had us third playing decent football. This guy has come in and all we do is aimlessly punt it long. He’s dour as fuck. Can’t wait til he leaves.I disagree.
He’s come in and called it as he’s seen it.
Nor am II said the same on another thread. I'm not impressed with him at all so far.
Neil being the manager you refer to?Happy clapper extreme you lad
Squads shit, put together by a shit dof for and a shit manager.
Moyes. Rotherham pre season when N’Zogbia played.Last memorable new manager boost was O'Neill or Di Canio.
It's laughable.
His football tonight was bleak. Aimless long balls, negative team selections. The guys f***ing shite. People can sneer all they like about philosophy etc but I’d pay my money to watch the football we played first half of the season. I ain’t paying next season if that’s the shite served up.Agreed. My main hope for the new manager was that it would be someone who could point at the obvious failings in the “philosophy” and “structure”, and call them out. That’s why I wanted Keane. I really hope Neil says it like it is - and let’s be honest, it’s f***ing bleak. I’d be more concerned if he was coming out trying to spin positives.

The previous manager was far and away better than this. We’ve got a dour Hamilton reject playing aimless hoof ball. Seems Johnson did a canny job.Who’s inherited shit!
What about the owners? DoF, previous manger?
Didn’t seem you moan about them
Playing aimless long balls from minute one is his fault. He was going mental on the touchlines then later on bowed his head in disbelief…not his fault
Aimless long balls all night. f***ing grim. Not what we need. All Neil has done wrong so far for me is play Pritchard on the wing. Spakman is the problem imho. Time to ditch this data driven bullshit and allow a manager free reign
Tonight's football was particularly awful mind mate.Who’s inherited shit!

We played long ball from minute one. It was a clear instruction from the manager. A f***ing clueless one at that.He was going crackers with the players after 10 minutes. They clearly weren’t doing what he’d told them as he said in his post match interview.
Thought he was going to make a sub after 20 minutes. He can’t believe what he’s seeing. But I’m confident he’ll turn it around.
CorrectNot his fault? What did you make of his team selection, formation, tactics and substitutions? I thought they were marginally worse than the caretakers the other week. He'll leave at the end of the season.
All of the negatives you mentioned are AN’s fault. The guy isn’t up to itNegatives - I was disappointed that we started with both Gooch and Pritchard on the right and nobody on the left. The throw-ins are still crap and we are chipping aimless balls from the centre halves to Ross Stewart. At the end when they had a corner Clarke asked if he should drift towards the centre circle for a break and Neil told him to defend.
Positives - none yet on the pitch but I think Alex Neil will be very determined and will mould this team or another set of players into a unit that will play with the passion we deserve. Whether he can do it quickly enough to salvage a play-off spot is another matter.
Neil being the manager you refer to?
Despite the fact he won his penultimate game eight days before he was sackedHaha good one, no mate, streaky Johnson, the one that left this shit show because he could no longer get a tune out of them
