Have we been sussed?

9 goals in two games by teams pressing our defence. Worrying.
Teams have pressed us many times this season and we've had answers. The last two games we've lacked the sharpness to break the press and Roefs has looked very rusty after his injury. The players will learn and we'll be ok.

I suspect Diarra is only playing because of how much he cost.

He needs dropping, if anything to give him a kick up the arse. Make him fight for his place as he’s contributing absolutely nothing.

We aren’t very flexible and play the same formation nearly all the time in the same way. Last night was one of those things, but we do need to think about varying our approach more

I’ve mentioned on here before that this Sunderland team seem to give the ball away for no apparent reason more than any other I’ve seen and they’re better than 90% of the SAFC teams I’ve seen anarl. It’s now obvious to everyone in the industry that we aren’t good enough to play pepball against an aggressive press.
As BB isn’t gonna win much in the air we need to get the ball to him below head level if going long and/or ping it ower their full backs heads ala Gayle/Earle era Wimbledon to find out if BBs shorter legs can cover as much ground faster than some taller centre halves. It’d be a lot of work for one man but it’s only until the opposition stop pressing constantly.

We also need to be awake when we leave the dressing room.

It would also help if we were willing to take a shot every now and then…

Thw number of times Alderete ends up facing the corner flag in our left back position, with ball at his feet and a man up his backside is ridiculous. Usually results in loss of possession then we are out of shape and under unnecessary pressure. Happens every week and has not been addressed, sussed but no change to pattern. Frustrating.

Ooooooh don’t get me started on that. If a pass (not cross) into/around the box is being considered then surely a shot should be anarl? Under instruction not to I suspect.
I was running the risk of exploding yesterday at times in the second half screaming at them to have a f@cking dig…

We got sussed out ages ago man. We've generally played poorly for all of the 2nd half of the season in general, apart from a couple games. We lost our consistency and spark at the back end of 2025.

We start games well but are criminally bad in the final third. This puts massive pressure on us and then we’re crumbling when the oppo score.
Maybe a couple like Roefs and Reinaldo came back too early from injury?
I have no idea really but its annoying

Is that the dodgy reserve who has played 3 x prem games and kept 2 clean sheets ? Nowt wrong with Ellborg
That’s fair. I thought that Ellborg looked shaky but the statistics suggest otherwise. Anyway, that’s a concern for another day.

I’m with you totally on that final ball. It’s a chronic problem and I thought Forest were excellent on the wings.

It’s almost as if trying to play out from the back as a newly promoted side against a high pressing high energy team is a stupid idea.
We play out from the back to try and work it into the opposition half, then loose it. Just kick it out ,we can loose it quicker that way.

Not really sussed just not getting away with it as much, think the Forest Preview I seen mentioned a stat that we concede most goals from turnovers, don't know if true didn't check it tbh. tbh I was sort of half watching the vid.
