Each to their own, but in my opinion, he looked more threatening in one game than the other two did the entire f***ing series in the winter.
I would also make an argument that he has to come good on his batting at some point and that England have a real problem with the tail, looking towards the winter.
We know what the bowling attack, if all fit and firing, is going to be in Brisbane: Archer, Anderson, Broad and Stokes. Throw Leach in to that mix and we could be in trouble.
I'm not saying Ali is an automatic pick over Leach, but I would be looking to give him some games this summer just to see where he's at, because at his best he walks in ahead of Leach, for batting and bowling reasons. Stokes being out would seem to present the best opportunity for that, because you can make it about stacking the all-rounders in to lengthen the tail. If it works, great. If not, Leach can come back in for India.
He did play pretty well, comparatively, with bat and ball in the game he played imo. Shame he got Covid early on.
