What about the theories that this is the second wave and loads of people have already had it without knowing?

General population antibody tests suggest the % of the population who’ve had is in single figures - 7% at the end of May.

I’d be surprised if the figure now is any higher than 12%. In fact having actually looked it’s still estimated to be no higher than 8%.

As in how many people have it and are infectious? Low, probably around 1 in every 2,000.

Decent odds that considering the awareness of the virus. That 1 person is likely isolating so your odds of meeting that person is higher. Spending 15 minutes with them, talking, face to face, even slimmer.

If you exclude the people shielding, those WFH and those in low risk working groups who are not being exposed on a daily basis then that would mean the figure is actually higher in the population in which the virus is still circulating.
