Has Roefs got a sell on clause?

If we do sell I hope we use some of the proceeds on a decent replacement. Ellborg has promise but I don’t think he’s ready or able to be No1 yet
Id go for that horrible bastard Trafford in a swap , he'd then be our horrible bastard .
City payed £31m for him , they could pay us £60m for Roefs and work in Trafford at £25m . Otherwise no dice he goes to Chelsea .

Considering the number of top clubs that have previously top goalkeepers that are practically finished I'd hold out for more to be honest.

I hope we keep him, he's potentially the best keeper in the world
Looks like we have a good relationship with chelsea , especially after the guiu ( sp) situation at start of season, so maybe sell to chelsea say £70m and loan back for 1 or 2 seasons would be excellent business
Come of it, they aren't going to give us their best keeper for a year after spending 70 million on him? Honestly

I’m sure I read somewhere that was a release clause that might be as low as 40 mill because Roefs wasn’t particularly high profile or sought after when we signed him. Basically his rapid progress has taken people by surprise.
Would not make much sense with a release clause that low if the previous club also have a sell on % .Personally I'd rather clear the decks of Patto, Adringa (If he's going for the reported 16 million , Heldje , Selt, Browne etc etc That's around 30 million plus for all them. These lads are on 5 year contracts. If and we will have to at some time down the line need to sell then sell from year 2 into their contracts. All their valuations will go up after a 2nd season of prem experience

Cracking keeper but also a Mag isn't he? Can't remember how good he is with the ball at his feet again TBH . I read reports on Melborg the other days and his footwork with the ball was praised so maybe he isn't as bad as some think with the ball at his feet. He really doesn't have a lot of 1st team experience but have been impressed with him in the main. He's seems to have a good character or not overly overawed etc

It'd be a huge risk letting him go. If he has another good season price will be higher and he could have pick of clubs. How many points has he saved us this season. Risking a lot trying to replicate his signing again, as show with the lad from Sweden it can be hard to bring in someone who hits ground running.

According to Wiki hes a cumbrian who supported chelsea growing up . The Mags met his release clause last year ( and are talking about him now) but Man city had a buy back on him .
I think Elleborg will be fine eventually, he kicks ok but just hangs on too long , gives me the shits 😄
I just think we need a top shot stopper that will dominate his area , we can work around moderate distribution. I think it will take Elleborg a couple of years to catch Trafford in the above respects.

I don't think that Ellborg is good enough with the ball at his feet for how we play.

The problem is that there aren't many as good at Roefs with the ball at his feet. An almost impossible task to replace.

He’s going to go sooner or later, could be the perfect storm from a selling point of view though , could argue Man City , Liverpool and Chelsea should/will be in for him

No chance Man City are going to buy another keeper. Liverpool and Chelsea and spurs if they stay up this season will be

He's just turned 23. Whoever eventually signs him is going to get the best part of a decade out of him, realistically £60m is the cheap end.

I wouldn't begrudge him a move to someone pushing for European honours.

So not Chelsea then
