Has football gone abit shit?

Would love premier league teams to play like this week in week out but too much money to lose…..that and teams like Chelsea and city hoovering up 100 players have killed the game
Bayern and PSG have no competition in their respective leagues. Our teams play strong teams week in week out, sometimes twice a week. No football league in the world has the strength in depth of the Premier League.

Finding myself enjoying non league games a lot more these days. Obviously want us to do as well as possible and catch games where I can but I plan a game around a visit back these days rather than a visit around a game and if that means im putting my ticket money into a north east non league club then I guess thats no bad thing.

It died the day the day the euro super league was announced.

In hindsight, all those clubs going to the closed shop wasn’t such a bad idea after all, it would be more fun and more competitive.

With VAR they are trying to make it a perfect game but it's not. Should of kept VAR and goal line technology out of it

I don't like the fact you have to be an accountant with a law degree to understand what's going on.

Going to the match and watching two elite teams compete still one of the best ways to spend a Saturday afternoon imo.

Not shit. Fans will rightly point out the standard of "the product" is better than ever.

I'm not really arsed about it these days. Rarely watch a live game, results don't make or break my day etc. Obviously want us to do well though.

But that's just me.

You've got some on here loving it, watching every game going, hating about 22 different clubs, boiling over results etc.
What do you mean by the standard of the product is better?

I might be wrong but I struggle to be arsed with it a lot.

Diving, VAR, Revenue talk. Am I alone in this feeling?
Its so much better than it was yet in many ways so much worse.

The corporate thing and revenue and all that has been about for ages and is horrible... looks like we're only just beginning with all that stuff.

VAR is dreadful. Need to get some long hair grown this summer.

Nah I’ve thought like that for a long time regarding football in general, premier league bores the shit of out me most of the time and I’d rather watch a decent championship game, unfortunately the premier league is where the moneys at so we need to be in it to progress, had me season ticket for years so I’ll obviously gan to our games but I’ll certainly not be busting a gut to put Bournemouth v palace on the morra,I’ll probably watch the national league semi finals 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes

I like re living it in late 60s and early 70s when it was not full of fancy hair dos, tattoes, wankers that fall down when tackled by a feather or wear gloves, or hair bands, or holes in their socks.

Or consistently play act or dispute refs decisions for the sake of it

Or VAR even though it helped us gain promotion to the so called promised land

Micro analysis splitting hairs by the TV pundits

Fuck on getting tickets and arranging travel for away matches.

Lack of traditional 15.00 KOs on a saturday

Byes given for the elite in Carabao

Extension of World Cup

Pre match shit music, (used to love it when away fans arrved early and enjoyed a good old sing song on terraces.

No hot dog stalls available in ground

No attempted taking of away ends

f***ing sterile today

It’s full of skinny little fannies who are soft as shite.

Back in the day you did not want to show that someone had hurt you.

Now it seems to be accepted that rolling on the grass like a ball of wool for three minutes is acceptable.

Pathetic.

With social media and all the tv networks it’s constantly in your face and its 24/7 and i think alot of people get sick of it.
But go back and watch prem games from 20 years back the standard on a whole was wank. Ball spent more time in the air.
