Hartlepool United

😁
The prospect of scoffing a Mucky Mary's after a canny day/night on the lash, has probably lured many a man & woman, to lay down roots, in the sprawling metropolis, that is British West Hartlepool Upon Sea. 😊

We’ve had some cracking away days on the road supporting Swindon this season, disappointing on the pitch.
Hartlepool despite the result was one of the best.

Enjoyed having those beers with you. Bizarre the Saturday night drinking Port with the Pool Landlord in the Globe. Raises a smile in a depressing season.

Equally has given me a purpose to support Hartlepool and something to play for last game of the season v Crawley.
Can only hope we go again next season.

You really cannot beat a good away day/weekend.
Aye, we all want our team to win on the road, but a cracking day or weekend away, and drinking with a friendly bunch of locals, can ease the disappointment of a poor performance or a poor result on the pitch.

Optimism is very high at Pools right now, and the 1908 bar and Corner Flag pubs (which you visited) were both heaving before & after yesterdays game against Stevenage.

Pools, having somehow dragged themselves out of the bottom two, now have the upper hand psychologically, in the battle to stay up, and though Crawley look to have the easier run in, their confidence will now be at rock bottom after a couple of heavy defeats, and seeing Pools climb above them in the league.

Though your lads have only pride to play for now, if you manage to beat Crawley, I reckon the landlord of the Globe will happily buy you a barrel of Port, as a thank you. 👍😊

I was on the Strong Arm. He decided to get out the Port and special glasses for his Swindon guest 👍⚽🍷

A cracking day out with Poolie mates.

Pre & post match slurps in 1908 bar, Corner Flag and Mill House pubs. 🍻
A battling and well deserved point for Pools, who are now out of the bottom two.
Plenty of footy bollix chatted.
Curried beef, fried rice & chips from Mucky Mary's, and home in time to watch EFL highlights, on ITV4.

Happy days. 👍

Mucky Mary's 🥱🤢🤮

A great mate married a Michigan lass n every time home went straight to mucky marys 😂

Theyve now moved here, 200m from my house ffs! 😆

She doesn't work at Silver Star does she? An American lass as just started working there, mind I'd have put her accent as more Texas than Michigan.

Nah mate.
I’ve been to Mary’s tonight. Special curry fried rice. Drove past the silver star to get there.
“ Silver Star Wo U Won “ 😆

Peters better at the Blackhall Wok

“Wha you waaaaaaant, marrraahh?”

Just got home. That was an absolute disgrace tonight mind. Keeper kept score down. Body language an absolute disgrace. Very concerning ahead of Saturday

Apart from the most important statistic from the match (the score), the figures from the match looked fairly even:

Possession: 52:48
Shots: 13:13
Shots on Target: 6:5
Corners: 5:3

"An absolute disgrace" was what I was reading from the Leeds supporters after losing 1-6 at home to Liverpool last night!

I know stats don't always give the fuller picture (like the body language you mentioned) but away from home against a team 27 points ahead of Pools before kick-off and now in a play-off position, on the face of it, it doesn't look as bad as you have described.

Anyway, I know you are a good poster and you were there and I wasn't, so know first-hand what happened. It will be interesting reading the detailed press reports on the match.

Respect to you for going to the game and good luck for Saturday and beyond.

Salford stopped trying after half an hour, they didn't need to push themselves and had their mind on the weekend. Hartlepool keeper made several good saves, I don't recall a save made by the Salford keeper. Very concerning what I saw last night. For a side "fighting", to stay in the football league, there wasn't a tackle in anger or any sort of aggression shown all night. Stats are very deceiving and it was a classic case of Salford just ticking over last night. Very frustrating

Last 2 results poor mate, only consolation Crawley didn’t win last night.
You simply need to win the big one Saturday and well within your grasp.

Good news Swindon at last winning and playing well against a very good side in Bradford. We will be up for the last game.
Can see our fans actually getting behind this one.🤞
