Hartlepool United

Yes but he smashed up 5 cars in Newcastle and is also banned out of Yarm

Bit different to the odd "drunken antic".
Fair to question whether he's the right person for the job based on his experience, but that stuff is going back about 15/20 year now. If he hasn't matured since his early 20s there's something amiss.

That doesn't bother me, it was just me pointing out if was more than just a daft drunken antic.

It's the experience that concerns me the most, not arsed about his previous behaviours.

Wasn't called the national league 19 years ago..so he is correct.
He didn't mention the national league.

“The overriding feeling is pride and satisfaction. The best placed finish (9th) & highest points tally (68) in the last 19 seasons (apart from the promotion season 20/21) shows the progress made in such a short period of time. 68 points being enough to make the play offs last season."

Looks like it's Cattermole. What a massively underwhelming appointment that in no way is different to the profile of NF in which the club said they didn't want.

Some will throw "they need to start somewhere" at me which is fair comment, however this job is not for a newbie as we saw with NF, we need someone who is experienced/knows the league.

I know Matt Hamshaw turned Pools down, but can't really envisage the application pool was much to shout about if we are appointing Lee Cattermole. It certainly won't get people rushing to buy season tickets.

Classic Pools
Banned from Yarm? I know about the Newcastle incident

Experience in management tends to mean a lot of failures.

It does but ultimately Pools aren't going to get Klopp rocking up. However I think it was important for them to appoint someone with experience of the league which to be fair isn't something they've really done and failed so many times with only Challinor having any success who did his learning at Fylde and Colwyn Bay

Harrison, Hignett, Grayson, Featherstone (as a manager), Limbrick, Kevin Phillips - none of them had managed in the national league before and let's be honest didn't really do much though I think KP may have done something, however losing 7-1 at Gateshead didn't help.

Personally speaking I was hoping to see a bit of ambition. Phil Parkinson went to Chester, Pete Wild I think is available, Rob Elliott at Gateshead had good pedigree, Hinshelwood has done a good job at Worthing and has managed at National League level. I've been a big admirer of the Boreham Wood manager, obviously doubt he would be interested but you never know, especially when you see Morecambe managed to get the Halifax manager. I also like Rooney at Macclesfield

Yet, another Boro connection/old boy, at the club - it's like Raj, never left.
Not necessarily. The rumoured manager seems to have come from a local newspaper reporter who is prone for being wrong but somehow has managed to spread like wildfire.

The rumour may be true, but if it's a done deal why were they interviewing Matt Hamshaw today?

Hamshaw originally turned us down

Well despite the spammer announcing on Friday here that Cattermole was a done deal, it looks like Lee Clark is now a candidate.

Can somebody tell me who is in charge of the actual day to day running of the club? Do we have a Ken Hodcroft type figurehead who is the focal point of the club or is it the consultants hired by LS? We all know Raj wasn’t exactly chatty Cathy in regards to communication with the fans but lately it seems we are being led by a non verbal order of monks!

Looks like the consultants are making the decisions
