Hartlepool United

You should still be good enough to beat Harrogate though

You would have thought so and expected to.
Lost confidence in the team at present. Was a poor transfer window leaving us short and indiscipline is costing us.
Has to be an improvement on Curle. Let's hope he hits the ground running and gets pools out of the relegation mire.

Anything is an improvement on Curle. Woeful Manager as every club finds out.

Anyone know much about him? Good appointment?

Decent appointment under the circumstances.

A lot of his playing and managerial success has been in non league, and makes you wonder if his appointment is aimed more at next season rather than this one. He has a free hit this season, most expect Pools to go down, so he won't get pelters if they do, unless they get worse and start getting tonked week in week out. I doubt that will happen, I imagine Askey to be a no nonsense common sense sort of manager, sticking to the same team, tactics, formation etc, not chopping and changing like the current crop of geeky school teacher sort of managers. If by a miracle they do avoid the drop, he has one helluva job on his hands clearing the deadwood out of the club, if they stay up will probably be in the same position next season, unless there is serious structural improvement and investment in solid league 1/2 players aged 24- 29
