Signed for Man Utd the close season that Ferdinand left for Spurs.
Was Ferguson Ferdinand's replacement? I remember my mates being gutted Ferdinand left but I think it was a lot of money at the time for a player his age.

Ferguson came a year later after Tomasson had a poor season (he was played as a target man due to Shearer's injury in pre-season)

Ferdinand leaving wouldn't have been that much of an issue had Shearer not snapped his ankle the day before he left.

Dalglish tried to get him to stay but Ferdinand had already given Spurs his word.

I was gutted when he left too, he was an absolute beast in 95-96

Someone said on here not that long ago that Conner Wickham was better... Fact... ps you know who you are

Just searched those threads out. Amusing.

So his average is 27 goals per season over the last 3 years. Only got to keep at that rate for the next 7 years. He'll get nowhere f***ing near.

Ssssh can't say that man, he's shite read it on here. The fact that 3 of his seasons at the mags didn't deliver double figures, he could have been 20 or 30 goals further ahead.

Rooney is only 60 behind after a 15 year career :)
he will get 'nowhere f***ing near' fuckin hell man hahaha .:lol:

Madness that Shearer scored so many. Kane has to score 20 league goals a season for a decade until he is 34 and he would still be 3 short.
He is capable - no doubt, but if he has the horrendous injuries or even a few dips in form I agree, he'd not do so well. Besides, he mind end up abroad which would rule him out anyway;)
