Harry Gardiner in from South Shields

Have to say when I've seen the U21s he hasn't looked like a first teamer. I get that he's scored a few but he doesn't look near to being ready for the first team. I've been wrong plenty in the past though.
I haven't seen much of him tbh mate but he always seems to be on the scoresheet...which is a great trait to have.

Yeah I’ve thought the same tbf. Think he would struggle physically against championship defenders. Would be good to see how he would do on loan in league 2 or national league

Well, there you go mate. Wonder why he's not getting a look in then?
Dunno tbh he is slight build so maybe it’s down to that with the physical challenge of the championship, he’s technically far better than hemir from what Iv seen and seems to have a knack of been in right place at right time. Don’t think he’s had luck with injuries so hopefully he keeps fit and given a chance

If he keeps banging them in then surely he can't be ignored mate👍👍

At 20 years old he ain't getting any younger... get him in the line up:lol:

He was sharing a room in the digs with John Barnes I think.

G.Taylor picked him up from the station in his Jag when he went down there.
Elton John wasn’t it?

Anyway…too little in the end and overshadowed by Gary Breeds who was the same age but I remember playing footy with him (a few years older than me) and nobody could get the ball off him.

Related by marriage to the Gardiners

Whenever I've seen the U21s, Ellis Taylor has always stood out. He doesn't look ready for the Championship either, could see him having a good lower league career though.

I don't think it's like previous regimes at the club, if players are good enough they'll get a chance, and I trust the set up we have.

He struggled to get games at South Shields last season.

I think people forget the gap between under 21s football and Championship is massive.

But been told by someone at the club he's probably not going to make at Sunderland like alot of under 21s players at the club, they are mostly fillers as we learnt our lesson from the 2 years they didn't win a game to have players decent for that level.

A reminded 2 'wonderkids'/ at Boro who did well in the 23/21 in past a few years have since been binned and are at West Auckland and Stockton
