Now that is something I can get behind.

Problem is, the 16.4 has been a good thing for the women’s game - whilst it’s been abysmal for the men’s - and so straight away there is a conflict of interest, perhaps with an example of how she could allow her background to adversely affect how she ‘manages’ the men’s game.

True, it has. But had the Blast been used as a vehicle for women's cricket by playing their matches alongside the men's, it would have been just as successful if it had had the marketing of the 16.4, without all the stupidity of inventing the new rules to make it work.

Obviously you can't do the same thing with the red ball game and have women's games played on the same day, but if she wants to improve the stature of women's red ball cricket, the first step is to promote the importance of the men's game.

You've just assumed she'll place her focus on women's cricket at the expense of the men's game.

I know it's ftecb but I'm more optimistic with this appointment than I was before it
 
Interesting that there's talk of the Counties breaking away from the ECB. The reason? The Counties have little to no say.
Doubt it will happen, but they should fight their corner. Every change recently has been detrimental so its all to the good if they can apply a bit of pressure.
