Harmison - Yorkshire Coach


The Gough appointment and this screams attempting to appease the players by not bringing in any "outsiders".

Sat next to Harmison on a plane from Portugal once. He’d been golfing. Plane landed at about 1.20pm on a Saturday. He was picking his Ashington team on the plane. Didn’t really try and engage him at all, but he asked if he could sit by the window which was my seat. I said ‘you can sit anywhere you like, you won the ashes’. He didn’t even smile. Just plonked himself down. Not that I wanted to have a load of craic with him or owt, just seemed pretty humourless.

Did enjoy this contribution on BT generally mind. Maybe that’s cos the standard was so low.

I can’t agree on all your comments on Yorkshire like. Especially those who haven’t had chance to defend themselves

Also who else would go there at the minute? The whole things fucked now as the ECB never got chance to investigate

Now we will never know.

Nobody will wanna touch it with a barge pole because of that

You may be right about no one wanting the job. I wouldn't.

Doesn't change my stance on what I want to see before even contemplate supporting the club again though. I realise I may be casting unwarranted suspicious on completely innocent people, but sadly that is a consequence of the nature and scale of the problems. Suspicion by association until proved otherwise. Rafa, Rashid, Rana, Shahzad all endorsing the appointments and confirming they had nothing to do with it would be enough

Many haven't had the chance to defend themselves and everyone should always be given that right. How many of Rafiq's accusations would have stood up in a court of law?
Wouldn't know if Harmi is a " canny lad" but that's hardly a qualification for a coaching role. He sat on his lucrative final 4 year contract contributing f.a, sulking because his brother was released.

He took 4 years wages at £149,500 per year without playing.
