You use the same argument with regards to Collingwood - however the biggest crime Collingwood ever did was get excellent. Its no coincidence that the two players you hail as 'not interested in Durham' are the two that have made it on the world stage.
I would also add that you were talking bollocks when you used to say Colloingwood wasnt popular amongst players and members - nothing could be further than the truth.
Collingwood got his finger out his arse and has performed well. Actually a very nice man when you get talking to him in Austins, always mixes well etc unlike Harmison who is the biggest misery.
Steve was whinging about the release of his brother, who in all honesty was crap and simply not interested. His body language was shockingly bad. The 3 year contract to Collingwood was rumoured not to have gone down too well with certain club officials (just a rumour),
Members were frustrated with Collingwood available to play yet spent the time on the golf course instead. He's come back and has been a breath of fresh air and is absolutely spot on with everyone.
Give me 100% everytime Callum Thorp ahead of a half arsed Steve Harmison most times he's available to play.

Harmy is the symbol of the new breed who came after the has beens. He was there during the dark days, when we began to win and then when we became feared. Steve should have 500 test wickets now, he hasnt but dont knock him for his Durham exploits. Benks wasnt there when we were crap, doubtful he would have joined back then. Benks taught us how to win title, the likes of Harmy put us in that position in the first place

The motivation chestnut will always get levelled at Harmy, it even did in his England days as he has one of those languid personalities - he wasn't made to be a star and has no idea how to act like that.
One thing I will say is that when England did give him the boot in 2008, he came back to Durham and was the best bowler in the country for 2 seasons, by a distance. He gave his all and enjoyed his cricket. He's at a point now where his body is failing him and he knows his career is heading on the way out, he's achieved all sorts in the game from an Ashes win to leading his boyhood club to trophies and it's little wonder he's perhaps not looked the same last season. That's a mixture of age and probably a bit of winding down.
I still wouldn't be shocked if with a winter of rest, he came back next season and took plenty wickets.
