hope ben takes sicknote(steve)with him
these negative barbs towards the big man are not called for.
IMO he was the first true world class act we produced
Shame he spends more time at the Newcastle training ground with his well known marra "Harps" than he does at DCCC.
essex boy said:We have had 10 years out of him and three trophies
Can't believe we have Durham fans criticising 220 test wicket Steve Harmison
He's the best bowler the county have produced, world class on his day - even up until a couple of seasons ago. Played as big a part in winning the championship in 2008 as anyone.
whed here (shouldn't use this account but never mind)
Steve Harmison is interested in one thing and that's himself.
He couldn't give a toss about Durham.
Bad back last season unable to play for Durham, yet fine to be on the Slaley Hall golf course. Ok to work for Sky, yet not arsed the same day to support his team mates in a T20 game.
Those who go and watch Durham (unlike Essex Boy and other "experts" on Durham CCC on here), will be aware that a lot of members and regular attenders have been very critial of Harmison and his commitment to Durham. When he can be arsed he's still decent but it's few and far between now. He's very well paid as well.
Some "experts" on here have made me laugh over the season that has just ended, never ever go and watch Durham yet slag off the players all the time.
Get down and watch the lads, plenty of weekend cricket once again for the forthcoming season.
Some people need to stick to talking about England when watching them on Sky.
The old chesnut you dont go so you dont know what your talking about. Having failed to hit the heights he should have done I could well imagine he struggles to find the motivation.
zzzzzzzzzz
hardly any of you on here bother to watch Durham, yet come across as "experts".
Give up thinking you know about the club etc and stick to the tedious England craic and slating world class international cricketers.
I've read things on here such as MDV is past itfuckin embarrasing.

I watch a limited amount of games per season.
I was a much more avid watcher in the early 90s when we were shite. I saw the dark days many times (clearly not as much as someone based in the NE) and apprecaite how far we have come as a county and Steve has played a huge part of that.
People cite Benkenstein, Boon & Hussey amongst others as the catalayst, there has no been bigger catalyst than Steve who got the ball rolling and made people stand up and take notice of not only him but Durham as a county. While Simon Brown was useful domestically big Steve put us on the map and look at how many other young quicks we have produced since.
Nobody on here professes to be an expert we give opinions.
Many of the southern counties were fearful of 'Harmy on a green one on a chilly morning in the North East'. You cannot put a price on the fear he struck into opposing batsman domestically over a period of time, maybe not appreciated by those in close proximity to Durham as much.
He isnt perfect but has done more for Durham than pretty much anyone else
