Hampshire Cheating


Indeed, @Liverpool Beachball posted the Facebook video of this. I must be honest, I couldn’t see what happened but the lads explained and it’s a poor show by the wicket keeper. The man out should be recalled to the crease

Watched this a few times. Does he chuck the ball from his left to right hand before appealing? With more frames you could find out

He's claiming a catch which is why he's appealing to the standing umpire even after he lifts the bails off. It was the square leg umpire who gave the decision so maybe he thought McManus had the ball in his left hand but clearly he didnt. The square leg umpire made a mistake but the keeper or the captain should have explained that was wrong. Hampshire were going to win anyway but that appeal has tainted it a bit.

I thought that earlier but on this slightly more blown up version I'm not so sure....the fact that Hampshire haven't put that forward as a defence which is pretty damning.
 
Is this tweet from Vaughan suggesting that skullduggery goes on all the time in county cricket just because there are no cameras?
