No we're not.
The TV money was used up with wages and fees for the players.
We're not struggling to pay off debt.
We've had consecutive seasons in the top flight, longer than any of those clubs.
He was more than happy to take the plaudits for us getting to Wembley and the 'miracle' escape. Therefore he can accept that his tactics, motivation and team selection resulted in the joint heaviest defeat in our 130 year history and hold his f***ing hands-up
most agreed with keeping the same team as stoke game bar 1 enforced change how many of the goals were individual mistakes nothing that gus can do about itWell said
What's the point of having a DOF, who isn't responsible for R&R? It's his job. Gus has spoken about it ad nauseum. The buck has to rest with him. You wouldn't hold Congerton responsible for day to day team affairs. I can't see what's so difficult to understand about it.You seem to be pushing very hard that Congo is responsible for the players he recruited when there are many quotes and facts that suggest otherwise.
Think it is time for that stance to be taken though. If he wants to relinquish responsibility for the squad at his disposal, he should allow the DOF to do his stuff rather than spit his dummy out every 5 minutes and sign all his mates from Brighton.
Sorry!!!! But ultimately the responsibility for results and performances rest with Gus Poyet.most agreed with keeping the same team as stoke game bar 1 enforced change how many of the goals were individual mistakes nothing that gus can do about it

Unless I've totally misunderstood the owner's management model?
Why pay for a DOF then?I certainly think it is far muddier than you believe. What your describing was the initial purpose, I believe that changed as soon as Poyet had a bargaining position.
The DoF position has become completely distorted in my opinion.
Why pay for a DOF then?![]()
we need to go back to the norm , bizarre having a dof when most of the players are below par footballersWhy pay for a DOF then?![]()
We would be lucky to have him inBruce out?![]()
Numerous reasons other than his core business.Numerous reason's, he's goes through a list of them on a video on safsee. If they work or not I couldn't say.
Numerous reasons other than his core business.we'll have to agree to disagree.
ah fuck it. Sack Poyet Ellis, go cap in hand to Roy and apologise for everything. Ambramovic did it with Mourinho.
Let's have some more fireworks.
Poyet is head coach. Recruitment & retention aren't in his remit. There may be occasions when Poyet's preferences coincide with those of the DOF. There will also be occasions when they won't. That's the deal. The smilies indicate I fail to see how something so logically symmetrical might defy an individual's comprehension. As I said, we can agree to disagree.Where have you got this set in stone belief that its his "core" business. Did you read it on here?
Have you seen anywhere that its written in print or direct quotes to even suggest that these players are the dof's pick?
Is it pure coincidence that the players used to play for Poyet and then he spoke in detail as to why he wanted them?
Ill agree to be dumfounded by your smiley. I would be happy if we had in place what you suggest as I believe Poyet has talent, picking players to buy is not one of them.
