He worked diligently without complaint at a club who spent less than we did for a few years. If he was genuinely backed (and that's where I have my doubts) he could rebuild his reputation here.

one thing mate. it could be taken out of context, if it was about signings in future. but i never heard the word signings mentioned. he talked about being sorry for the fans, unreal ogs and it being the worst performance. also he learned a lot re un named players who gave up

Gus is always putting the responsibility on Congerton's shoulders when there is a bit of negativity surrounding the club.
He is positioning himself strategically. If the season goes tits up he will say 'well it's not my fault, there's a DoF at the club that has the duty of buying the players not me'.
He has been doing this since the summer. Coming out with stuff like 'oh I won't be be happy if there aren't x amount of players in the squad by the time of the Portugal trip'

Gus is thinking of Gus. I'd probably do the same if my reputation was on the line tbf
 
Not sure why he is being lambasted for this. He is stating the facts isn't he, well at least generally as I cannot believe any fucker would be daft enough to buy Bridcutt. Oh had on a minute.
 
If he said that, get f***ing rid....always an undercurrent of f***ing whining.
 
if he did say that then he should do the honourable thing and resign.

If he isn't happy with the way things operate with regards to transfers and he isn't happy with the squad he has been given then I'd respect him for walking away from it.

If he isnt happy with it but stays in his job then he should get on with it and take his share of blame for todays days events and any other events that unfold.
 
What he said or didn't say will come out soon enough man. I don't doubt the lad's sincerity, though I suppose it's possible he misheard.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest mind, although that's no reason to assume he actually said it.
